MyCareerMatch

 Deakin University Schools Partnership Program
MyCareerMatch Overview MyCareerMatch is an online career profiling system that careers advisers can use with their students.
MyCareerMatch is an online psychometric assessment that is based on more than 15 years of research, psychometric and
personality testing completed by psychologists Carl Jung and William Marston. It is based on the premise that there are four basic
personality types: Drivers, Promoters, Supporters and Analysers and that most people have both a dominant and a secondary
personality type, and this particular combination to a large extent determines how a person behaves in different situations, what
their innate tendencies are, and what work environments they are most likely to thrive in.
Each student will receive a Career Profile report that can be used to better understand their interests and talents and offers a broad
range of career options to consider. Details MyCareerMatch will provide your school with an additional careers resource. It takes approx 15 minutes to complete and is an easy
tool to use that will assist students, careers advisers and parents in the career decision process as students discover what their
personal style is, their natural talents, what careers best suit them and what university courses may assist them in achieving their
career goals.
Reports and Resources MyCareerMatch can be completed from any internet connection and upon completion a number of reports and resources are
produced, each tailored to meet specific outcomes and when used together as a suite of tools, provides a powerful resource for
students, careers advisers and parents.
Reports include:
• Career Profile Report (sent via email to the student and careers adviser) – that lists their interest areas
• Student Workbook – includes a series of exercises that will assist students in identifying careers and courses that are right
for them from the list produced in their personal Career Profile Report
• Resume Guide – will assist students in developing an effective resume
• Interview Guide – provides students with interview tips
