1 MAY NEWSLETTER 2016 Greetings from the Administrator, Laurie Kreul We are excited for the sunshine and warmer weather and we are looking forward to getting out and enjoying all the signs of spring. We are also excited for the graduation of our high school and college students, planning for our annual plant sale and sprucing up the place a bit for summer! Thanks to many gifts from our friends we are over halfway to our goal of raising funds to purchase a new bus. One of the most popular activities is our bus rides. We are only able to use our current bus when the weather is “just right” due to poor air circulation, lack of air conditioning, foul smelling diesel fumes and the rough ride. The new bus we are looking at will have rear suspension and two air conditioning units. It will run on gas instead of diesel, and will also have a speaker system to allow the riders to hear what the driver is saying. It will also include seat grab rails, aisle armrests, and Synthetic Leather seat fabrics. We are grateful for the gifts we have received and would be extremely grateful if you could find it in your heart to help us meet our goal to purchase a new bus, which will significantly enrich the lives of everyone who lives on our campus. Thank you! It’s amazing to see the relationships the students form with the residents at Eastern Star. The students truly realize how important it is to make that connection with our elderly, and I couldn’t be more proud of them. It’s something we all look forward to every week!” -Mr. Knaack A SPECIAL THANK YOU TO ALL THE 8TH GRADERS THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! E. S. Home 911 Ridgewood Drive Decorah, IA 52101 WE WOULD LIKE TO THANK PEGGY FOR ALL THE YEARS OF SERVICE TO OUR RESIDENTS AND THEIR FAMILIES. YOU WILL BE MISSED! I would like to say a big Thank You to all the residents and their families, for the honor and privilege of being their hair dresser for the past 23 1/2 years. I have been so blessed to have gotten to know so many wonderful people, not only the residents, but their family too. Getting to be a little part of their lives, an make them feel and look a bit better. I will miss them all, but feel it is time to move on and try something new. I would also like to thank all the C.N.A’s for their hard work of getting everyone up and to the beauty shop when I needed them; they have a very hard job to do and need to be thanked many times over for putting up with me. Thanks again! Peggy Rovang RESIDENTS MAKING PEANUT BUTTER PINE CONES
