Working with these boards creates minimum dust. They contain organic binder which evaporates from the material when the temperature is higher than 52°C. Simple and economical solution - construction and insulation in one. Minimal demands on space - thin board with good insulation. No dust when working. Grenaisol is produced only from natural materials. Large format suitable for easy handling and working: 1000 x 610 mm. Easy machining with normal hand tools for wood. Easy and quick jointing with glue, screws or staples. Plaster (Gypsum) board is not suitable because when heated over 1000C it loses moisture and starts to disintegrate. Insulation wool contains organic binder which gives off a smell after heating. Fibres are released into the room even if the material is covered with aluminium foil. Application of Grenaisol boards Grenaisol can be used not only as wall insulation behind a heat source but also as a building and structural element for a fire surround without any other additional supporting structures. Grenaisol board is sufficiently firm to ensure the necessary fireplace shell rigidity and durability and, at the same time, has excellent insulating properties with a relatively small thickness (30-50 mm). Temperatures inside the fire surround can reach 500°C without affecting the boards. Thin-coat plaster can easily be applied to Grenaisol boards and can also be clad with ceramic tiles. 2 insulation boards Grenaisol parameters and properties Grenaisol insulation boards are made of exfoliated vermiculite and a special inorganic binder, providing high resistance to thermal shock and temperatures up to 1250°C. They are harmless to health and free of any asbestos, glass or mineral fibres. They have sufficient strength and mechanical stability, high durability with high electrical resistance and low thermal conductivity. Grenaisol boards are very stable and do not release any vapours even at high temperatures. Grenaisol boards can be used not only as a safe material for the easy construction of your fire surround or insulation chambers of a tiled stove, but also to help ensure adequate insulation, and all in one operation! Grenaisol boards are manufactured in the following dimensions: 1000 x 610 mm / 800 x 600 mm; 30, 40 or 50 mm. Dimensions 1000 x 610 mm / 800 x 600 x 30, 40 or 50 mm Classification temperature 950°C Density 430 kg/m3 Thermal conductivity at 200°C 0.203 W/mk Compressive strength 1.2 MPa Bending strength 0.4 MPa Stress-strain diagram for determining the Grenaisol board thickness in accordance with EN 18 892. Support and insulation construction Ventilated insulation wall for heat storage stove with Grenaisol boards Heat storage stoves (tiled stoves) work on the principle of radiation. Warm air is emitted through the wall of the stove. The fireplace is enclosed in a carcase of heavy storage material without any grids for ventilation. Warm air is stored inside and emitted through the storage material. In the fireplace shell the temperature is very high and not only the fireplace but also the right insulation of the wall has to be designed. We recommend using a ventilated wall built with Grenaisol boards. This wall has been tested and guarantees a low temperature on the outer side of the wall. Coating Fire surround construction using Grenaisol boards Build a fireplace surround using Grenaisol - structural and insulation board in one! Grenaisol board is completely harmless to health and ecological. No dust particles or fibres are released from the board and no vapours occur even when the board is heated to high temperatures. Grenaisol board is grooved on one side with a smooth surface on the other. The grooving is designed to enable use of the best possible glue or plaster adhesives. When using the board as wall insulation, attach the board with its grooved side to the wall. When applied to the outside of the fire surround, the grooved side should face outwards and be used as a base for applying stove fabric mesh and plaster, or glue and ceramic tiles. Choose the Grenaisol board thickness which meets your requirements - the thicker board (50 mm) provides better insulation, while the thinner one (30 mm) is suitable when you need to save space inside the fire surround. Use wood screws or staples to join Grenaisol boards and apply Grenapaste glue to all surfaces in contact with each other. All you need are standard hand tools such as a fret saw, drill, rasp, etc. Grenaisol boards are very easy to work with. Allow for a 50 mm (approx.) overlap at joints. Allow the first piece to dry and then prepare the next part of the shape in accordance with the above instructions. 90 R20 R20 ≥R175 40 10 2) Fix the SilaTerm stove fabric with steel staples. Allow for 100 mm extra at the top and on one side plus a 50 mm overlap. Grenaisol Arcus Insulation boards Grenaisol Arcus in dimension 40 x 90 x 600 mm is a design for creating an insulating curve. You can use it from 175 mm radius. The Arcus interlocking profile ensures that you will not lose any insulation as with normal shapes like bricks. Arcus saves time and material and increases the quality of insulation and fire surround. Radius of curve > 175 mm Packing: 15 pcs in cardboard box 21 x 26 x 61 cm 30 cardboard boxes on a palette (450 pcs) 7 4) After allowing all parts to dry (approx. 24 hours) you can connect the parts to each other. Fix the fabric with steel staples and coat with stove mortar. Allow two hours for the mortar to dry, then apply stove plaster and the same colour paint as a finishing coat. insulation boards Insulation of rear wall with Grenaisol boards Grenaisol boards are glued with Grenaklebepaste direct to the wall Are all materials and solutions really safe in your constructions? • When you plan a chimney or stove construction you must realize that if the chimney passes through the surrounding structures (ceiling, roof or wall), the construction details must be considered seriously. And especially if it is a modern structure containing flammable materials and at the same time with regard to low-energy or passive standard buildings requiring Vapor whole structure. Especially in timber frame construction buildings it is necessary to insulate walls behind a heat source. Use Grenaisol boards with a minimum thickness of 30 mm. The boards can be covered with plaster or painted with interior paint. We recommend using Silaterm scheme, which is designed for high temperature applications. Grenaisol is easy to glue and cut. 145 30 46 46 Wall or ceiling 30 30 50 Mineral wool 80 30 Chimney steel tube 50 Mineral wool 30 72 42 76 12 42 12 Chimney steel tube 156 316 256 156 42 42 72 30 30 30 30 80 50 50 460 156 76 or The depth of penetration can be adjusted to the wall thickness thanks to the telescopic structure. Surface and material is specially developed for stove and fire surround uses beneath mortar or plaster. Normal fabric mesh is not resistant to high temperature and in a few months will disintegrate and you will see small or bigger gaps and cracks at the corners and in the stove surround joints. When you use stove fabric mesh you can eliminate this risk. 1 x 10 metre roll size Universal glue for high temperature up to 1200°C Grenaklebepaste is an inorganic glue which does not release any fumes or flammable material at high temperatures The glue is water-soluble Both glued sides should be protected from water Soiled tools can be washed in water 25 kg pack 25 kg / 5 kg pack Model - stove plaster White 600 White stove adhesive Developed for gluing of second coat of storage stoves and as a backing coat for stove fabric mesh under stove plaster or for ceramic tiles on stoves The setting time of the White stove glue is approx. 40 min You can use it for all applications where it is not necessary to use stove mortar.
