CTA `L` Service from Chicago`s O`Hare and Midway Airports

The ‘L’ is the easiest way
into and around town!
Three ways to pay.
Transit is the easiest way to get to/from Chicago
airports; there’s no need to pay for parking or taxis
when you ride with CTA.
1.
You can buy a Ventra Ticket—options
include a Single-Ride CTA Ticket (includes two
transfers to bus and/or train within two hours) a
1-Day CTA Ticket (unlimited rides for one person
for 24 hours) or a 3-Day CTA Ticket (unlimited
rides for one person for 72 hours).
2.
3.
You can buy a Ventra Card, available at any
CTA vending machine, with money loaded to cover
fare for up to seven people, or any pass you like.
About the CTA Blue Line ‘L’
The CTA Blue Line provides service directly into
O’Hare Airport.
The fully-accessible O’Hare station is situated in
the lower level concourse, which connects Airline
Terminals 1, 2 and 3, and is conveniently accessed
from Terminal 5 by free, frequent airport shuttle trains.
Blue Line train service operates via elevated and
subway from O’Hare to downtown, then continues west
to the cities of Oak Park and Forest Park. The normal
travel time on the Blue Line from O’Hare to downtown,
is 40-45 minutes.
Blue Line trains run 24 hours a day, seven days a
week; and all trains leaving the O’Hare station go
through downtown.
You’ve got three easy options for paying your fare:
If you have Android Pay, Apple Pay,
Samsung Pay or a contactless bankcard
and don’t need a transfer, you can go straight
to the gates and pay there. A $2.25* fare will be
charged for each ride you do this way, except for
rides originating from O’Hare.
All vending machines take cash, coins, credit or debit.
