The ‘L’ is the easiest way into and around town! Three ways to pay. Transit is the easiest way to get to/from Chicago airports; there’s no need to pay for parking or taxis when you ride with CTA. 1. You can buy a Ventra Ticket—options include a Single-Ride CTA Ticket (includes two transfers to bus and/or train within two hours) a 1-Day CTA Ticket (unlimited rides for one person for 24 hours) or a 3-Day CTA Ticket (unlimited rides for one person for 72 hours). 2. 3. About the CTA Blue Line ‘L’ The CTA Blue Line provides service directly into O’Hare Airport. The fully-accessible O’Hare station is situated in the lower level concourse, which connects Airline Terminals 1, 2 and 3, and is conveniently accessed from Terminal 5 by free, frequent airport shuttle trains. Blue Line train service operates via elevated and subway from O’Hare to downtown, then continues west to the cities of Oak Park and Forest Park. The normal travel time on the Blue Line from O’Hare to downtown, is 40-45 minutes. Blue Line trains run 24 hours a day, seven days a week; and all trains leaving the O’Hare station go through downtown. You’ve got three easy options for paying your fare: If you have Android Pay, Apple Pay, Samsung Pay or a contactless bankcard and don’t need a transfer, you can go straight to the gates and pay there. A $2.25* fare will be charged for each ride you do this way, except for rides originating from O’Hare. All vending machines take cash, coins, credit or debit. The fully-accessible Midway station is right next to the airport terminal building, and connected by an enclosed walkway. Orange Line train service operates from Midway (on the southwest side of Chicago) to downtown via elevated tracks. The normal travel time to downtown from Midway is 20-25 minutes. Service operates all day, every day, except during overnight hours (roughly 1am to 4am).
