LICENSE NUMBER P1543, SNS BLOCK NUMBER 49/14a
Operator Holywell Resources Limited 100%
Summary
License Number P1543 was relinquished with an effective date of 31 March,
2009. The License covers SNS block 49/14a and following an examination of the
prospectivity no drillable prospects were delineated.
1.
Exploration
3D seismic data was obtained and reprocessed over block 49/14a and mapping
was carried out both in time and depth.
2.
Prospectivity Analysis
2.1
Reservoir
The Permian Leman Sandstone provides the primary potential reservoir in the
block. The Carboniferous sandstones and the Bunter sandstones provide
secondary reservoir targets over the block. A speculative reservoir target was
also considered in the Lower Chalk.
2.2
Source
The Carboniferous Coal measures provide the main gas source rocks in the
Southern Gas Basin.
2.3
Seal
The Silverpit Shales directly overlie the Leman reservoir unit providing a vertical
seal. The Bunter shales overlie the Bunter sandstone reservoirs. For the Lower
Chalk reservoir intra chalk seals were invoked.
2.4
Trap Type
Faulted anticline and horst fault block structural trapping requiring an updip fault
seal. Stratigraphic traps were also considered.
2.5
Remaining Prospectivity
Licence P1543 was extensively mapped and no further propectivity has been
identified with the exception of speculative Lower Chalk leads mapped at the
Base Chalk horizon.
3.
Reserves Summary
No remaining undrilled potential has been identified at the primary horizons.
Speculative leads at the base Chalk horizon could contain between 41-926 bcf
unrisked gas.
