 Seeding
time in MEXICO is during Fall ,
from October to December.
 Some seeding in Northern State of Sonora
is during January.
 we have 2 main areas for chickpeas
seeding

MEXICO Is right now under harvest time, the
harvesting season is from MARCH TO MAY , and only
about 10% is small size 9 mm
my numbers are as follows:

cleaning, less domestic consumption and seeding

THERE IS NO CARRY OVER
 We are starting new harvest with none
inventories from previous years.
 quality is excellent we do not have any
problems on insect damage, worm bitten
grains, greens or browns.
our farmers are doing a very good job ,they are
doing fumigations on the fields on time
We had a cold winter, this helps a lot the good
development.


where do you think the market will go?
in terms of availability of stocks and
also in terms of prices?
we do have enough stocks to cover buyer
necessities of "GOOD QUALITY BIG SIZE
CHICKPEAS”
 MEXICO has the only True 12 mm
 In MY OPINION, INDIA probably does NOT have a
lot of REAL 12 mm caliber
in MY OPINION prices SHOULD be + $1500.00 C&F
 Buyers that wants to get good quality, and True 12
mm / uniform size 12 mm, needs to look to Mexico.
 on the selling Prices, we CAN NOT compete with
INDIA, MEXICO farming costs are higher.
 MEXICO Has no hurry to sell, as we are 12 months
ahead of next crop 2014.


different markets?
 New
crop 2013 MEXICO
 For 12 mm ( 42-44 usa oz) first
Sale contracts were done between
$1300 and $1400 Mersin and Algiers,
and the current price is between $1450
to $1500.
 I believe the increase in price was due to
less overall production combined with
India having minimal 12 mm caliber.

What is the situation of stock with farmers ,
what does he thinks for the prices.





we are paying the MEXICAN farmers more
than US$ 1,050.00 to US$1,100.00 per
mt. ORIGINAL PRODUCT, from harvest.
We need to add + cleaning, processing, packing,
exportation cost, freight charges etc.etc.
We need to pay a fair price to farmers so they can
keep planting chickpeas in the future, and dont
go to grow other products like corn.
White corn is the product that leaves more profit to
farmers in Mexico.
The company i represent and México main
exporters believes in Fair Trade agreements with
the mexican farmers. We pay good for the
chickpea crops. Other wise they will move to
Corn.

MEXICO DOES NOT IMPORT ANY CHICKPEAS
OF ANY SIZE.
Until now, India is not importing anything from
MEXICO. The question is
Will India import from Mexico?
main buyers from MEXICO are: Spain, Algeria,
Turkey.
THERE is a possibility of INDIA importing
MEXICAN 12 mm chickpeas, as they do not
have a lot of this big size.?
