PATENT ATTORNEY

Position
As patent attorney you are responsible for the protection of KeyGene’s intellectual property and the development
thereof. You will have a close interaction with our scientists to stimulate IP-awareness within the company and
advise them about the requirements for IP protection. Furthermore, you will be responsible for patent reviewing
and drafting, filing and prosecution of patent applications in co-operation with external patent agencies, for which
you will be the first point of contact. You will advise the VP Legal Affairs in matters related to enforcement of the
patent portfolio. You will report to the CSO and will support him with the further development and management
of a coherent and commercially valuable patent portfolio.
Your profile
The candidate we are looking for:

Is a European patent attorney or is close to passing the qualification examinations

Has a relevant scientific degree in biotechnology/life sciences

Has relevant working experience in an international biotechnology/life sciences environment, preferably in
agro biotechnology

Possesses advanced analytical and information gathering skills

Delivers quality patent work in an efficient and timely manner

Is a strong communicator, able to liaise with internal colleagues and external attorneys effectively

Has excellent skills to use the English language aptly and accurately

Enjoys working in a dynamic international company
