on vacation with her wealthy WASP parents. This convinces him
that he has made a serious mistake marrying Lila, and he decides
he wants Kelly instead. Her rich father is less than keen and lets
everyone - including Lenny - know that he hates everything about
him and the way he carries on.

Eleven year old David Wiseman loves to play cricket but is no
good at it. When a Jamaican family move in next door and build a
cricket net in the back garden, David is in seventh heaven. But
this is 1960s England, and when the neighbours start to make life
difficult for the new arrivals, David's Jewish family is caught in the
middle, and he has to choose between fitting in and standing up
for the new friends who have turned his world upside down.

Young Hungarian poet Hannah Senesh, a Special Operations
Executive operative, leaves the safety of Palestine to be
parachuted by the British Army into Yugoslavia to assist in the
rescue of Hungarian Jews. She is swiftly captured and executed
by the Nazis. The film blends dramatic re-enactments with
recitations from Senesh's letters to her mother, interviews with the
other parachutists and kibbutz members, and a discussion with
the late historian Sir Martin Gilbert.

Cleaning out an apartment of a Bauhaus building in Tel Aviv leads to
unexpected discoveries and repressed family
emotions coming to the surface. The flat was where the director’s
grandparents had lived since they immigrated to Palestine in the
1930s. Objects, pictures, letters and documents awaited him there,
revealing traces of a troubled and unknown past, involving unexpected national interests, a friendship that crossed enemy lines, and
even some secrets that should have probably remained untold…

Hester Street

Hester Street tells the story of Jewish immigrants who came to the
Lower East side of New York City in 1896 from Europe and lived on
Hester Street in Manhattan. When Yankle first comes to the US, he
quickly assimilates into American culture and becomes Jake. He also
begins to have an affair with Mamie, a dancer. His wife, Gitl, who
arrives later with their son, Yossele, has difficulty assimilating. The
film is noteworthy for its detailed reconstruction of Jewish immigrant
life in New York at the turn of the century, with much of the dialogue in
Yiddish with English subtitles.

60 mins. Meet Flory Jagoda .Her perfect, trilling voice invokes the
soulful musical Altarac family heritage stretching back to
pre-Inquisition Spain. This 90-year old legendary Sephardic National
Heritage Fellow musician shares her powerful and inspiring life story
interwoven with original songs that she performed with fellow musicians at her September 2013 Celebration Concert at the US Library of
Congress.
