enforcement Metropol Security whom the City is entering into an

MONTH OF JANUARY, 1997
Statistical data for the month of January, 1997 is attached.
The Detachment is still be one position short.
There were 752 files opened during the month.
Municipal transport travelled 20,030 kilometers. Overtime amounted to 8 hours at straight
time, 83.5 hours at time and one half and 21 hours at double time. There were no hours of lieu
time off taken during the month.
During the month the Auxiliary Members put in a total of 58.5 hours.
Our overall Criminal Case load for the month remains up 30% over last year.
During the month, between January 11th. & 12th., a break and enter was reported at a
local engine rebuilding business in the City. Approximately $40,000.00 worth of equipment was
stolen from the business. The matter is still under investigation and leads are being followed up.
Due to a Crime Stoppers tip, an electronic gum bail machine valued at $1,800.00, was
recovered and a 21 year old male resident of the City has been charged with the theft from a local
restaurant.
Members are also still investigating a residential house fire which occurred in the 4700
block of 29th St. The residence and contents were extensively damaged as a result of an early
morning fire on January 3 0th.
