A FENCE
• A fence that complies with the Fence By-law may
not qualify as an enclosure for a pool or hot tub
FENCES ON INTERIOR LOTS
• Maximum height of 0.9 metres (3 ft.) in the front yard
• Maximum height of 2.4 metres (8 ft.) in the side and
rear yards
FENCES ON CORNER LOTS
• Maximum height of 0.9 metres (3 ft.) in the front yard
• Maximum height of 1.8 metres (6 ft.) in the f lankage
yard
• Maximum height of 2.4 metres (8 ft.) in the rear and
interior side yards
ALL FENCES SHOULD NOT:
• Be built in the Day Light Triangle, as per the
Zoning By-law;
• Obstruct visibility to drivers or pedestrians;
• Encroach onto city-owned property.

The DLT is the triangular area formed by
measuring:
• 3 metres (10 ft.) from the intersection of the lot
line to the point on the opposite lot line
measured at a distance of 15 metres (50 ft.)
from the intersection of the adjacent lot
