Wash out the mud
Today’s preacher
Jesus wasted no time
on vain speculations.
He saw need, and he
acted. Jesus saw a
man whose eyes had
never seen daylight.
Jesus made a paste
of mud and put it on
the man’s eyes; then
Jesus told him to go
and wash. He went,
he washed, and he
could see!
Our guest presenter is
affectionately known to
us as Coach Kay. She is
our Bible Class teacher,
school counselor, and so
many other role plays as
needed. Kay has a great
gift for listening to kids
in crisis. Students love
and respect her. She is
also appreciated around
here for her prodigious
musical talent. Kay and
husband, Rich, share in
spiritual ministry. Let’s
receive what Kay brings
today as an unexpected
blessing.

Minute Sermon:
“”...but now in the
Lord you are light.
Live as children of
light...”
Ephesians 5:8
Let’s take no pride in
our knowledge of the
darkness. Scripture
admonishes us to look
for what pleases God.
We are to live in the
light of Jesus Christ,
not in the shadows.
Grades entered
Our progress reports
for 3rd Quarter have
been entered into the
record and will now be
shared with parents.
Parent conference week
begins Monday. Classes
are half days (no lunches
served). 3rd Quarter
conferences provide a
chance for assessment
of performance and an
opportunity for repair,
if needed. Progress is
best achieved through
partnerships between
teachers and parents.
Keep your appointment
Parent conference time
is a precious resource.
Teachers must prepare
for the conference with
parents. Planning time
is invested. Respecting
the appointment hour is
sign of real partnership.
“Family chores
Question of the Week:
When should children
begin to help with the
family chores?
Rae Jackson:
“As soon as they can
comprehend helping as
a member of the family.”
Taryn Pitt-Cardenas:
“When they understand
the workings of a washing
machine.”
Judy Holmes:
“When they’re able to
understand—not that
‘mine’ understood pick
up and put away.”
Page 2
Mike & Desiree Wopat:
“At age two make a game
of picking up toys—other
chores as a helper.”
Greg Jackson:
“Children love to help, and
at a very young age.”
Bev Smith:
“Maybe age three when they
are still cute. ’Please pick up
your toys and put them in the
box’...”
Bella (age 15):
“No chores! Just kidding.
Well, not all the way. We
should help out whenever
Mom and Dad need us to
do something.”
People want answers:
Who will help with the
housework?
Debbie Baumgardner:
“Okay, now we have robots
flipping burgers and drones
delivering pizzas. But we
really need smart phones
that clean bathrooms.”

When dipping bread
Off to the wedding
Texts for Study
The respectful way to
receive communion by
intinction is to dip a
bread morsel without
submerging fingers in
the cup. Let’s model
this for our children.
A family wedding has
interrupted our lives.
Our parsonage duo is
away officiating and celebrating. But you have
been left in the care of
Coach Kay.
