UPDATE ON FACILITIES IMPROVEMENTS AND SELF SURVEY COMPLETION –
Camron Mac Donald covered ADA improvements the City has completed over the
past 6 months. See attached graph listing work completed during this time
period.
CURB CUT/RAMP IMPROVEMENTS PROGRAM
Mardell Morrison discussed installation of curb cuts in Santa Rosa over the past
year period. There is an updated top 100 curb cut list on the City’s ADA web site
at: http://ci.santarosa.ca.us/departments/hr/riskmanagement/ada/Pages/default.aspx
TRANSIT OPERATIONS
Michael Ivory advised the group that the Transit Division is in the process of
purchasing an alert system for the buses that is an electronic screen announcing
upcoming bus stops. There will also be an audible element to the system.
Additional software upgrades will make it possible for a citizen to be able to view
timing on the arrival of a bus at their stop through their smart phone device. For

PUBLIC COMMENTS
April Wick thanked everyone for their efforts. She will be doing some outreach in
the community and have Mardell post events on the City’s ADA Web Site as part
of her efforts.

The ramp to the bleachers is inaccessible because it has a cross slope of up to 2.3% and the bottom
landing has a cross slope of 3.6%.
Community Center
Parking. The parking reserved for persons with disabilities is inaccessible because it has slopes up
to 4.8%, and one space has a cross slope of 3.4%.
Route from Parking to Entrance. The curb ramp is inaccessible because the flared sides have slopes
of 11.9% and 13.2%.
Finley Park
Drinking Fountain by Tennis Courts
The drinking fountain is inaccessible because it requires 10 pounds of force to operate.
Although a designated accessible drinking fountain is provided, there is no drinking fountain
provided for people who have difficulty bending or stooping.
The drinking fountain protrudes 18 inches into the walkway at a height between 27 and 80 inches,
and is not detectable to blind persons using a cane.
Drinking Fountain at Outdoor Toilet Rooms. The drinking fountain is inaccessible because the

The emergency call box to the left of the entrance door protrudes into the walkway at a height

Galvin Community Park located at 3330 Yulupa Avenue
Drinking Fountain by Playground
The drinking fountain is inaccessible because the gravel route to it is not stable, firm, or slip
resistant.
The drinking fountain is inaccessible because the water flow is less than 4 inches high; the flow is
not within 3 inches of the front of the fountain; and the control requires 12 pounds of force to
operate.

on one side and a slope of 9.3% on the other side.
Main Reception Counter. The counter protrudes into the walkway at a height between 27 and 80
inches and is not detectable to blind persons using a cane.
Women’s Lobby Toilet Room with Stalls
The designated accessible toilet is inaccessible because the rear grab bar is obstructed by the flush
valve and the seat cover dispenser.
Men’s Lobby Toilet Room with Stalls
The side grab bar at the designated accessible toilet is inaccessible because it is mounted with the
far end 50½ inches from the rear wall.

have trouble bending or stooping.
Men’s Toilet Room with Stalls
Parking Lot Off Marlow Street. The designated van accessible parking space is inaccessible because
there is no access aisle.
