SPECIFICATIONS
PORTER No. 01971-000 POWR-RIBâ II VOLLEYBALL STANDARDS (PAIR)
Posts shall be provided in a high strength (6063T6), lightweight aluminum alloy, designed with dual internal
reinforcing ribs to provide maximum rigidity and minimum deflection. Posts to be finished in a durable clear
anodized finish. Both ends of upright posts shall be fitted with a special molded, composite type cap to protect
finished floors when moving standards.
Uprights shall be 3-1/2" (8.9cm) O.D. to fit standard floor sleeves for new construction or existing floors. Specify
No. 870, 872, 873 or 875 type floor sleeve.
Upright posts shall be equipped with special sliding collar devices incorporating a spring-loaded guide pin and
positive pressure locking T-handle mechanism for instant net height settings for tennis, badminton and volleyball,
to meet all USAV, NCAA and NFHS requirements for competition. Posts shall be furnished with height marking
labels for BOYS’/MEN'S height setting of 7' 11-5/8" (2.43m), GIRLS'/WOMEN'S height setting of 7' 4-1/8" (2.24m),
12 YEAR AND UNDER height setting of 7'-0" (2.13m), and BADMINTON height setting of 5'-0" (1.52m).
Adjustable collar assemblies shall be positioned on a vertical axis by means of an external groove in the extruded
aluminum upright, which is engaged by a spring-loaded ball/pin mechanism to prevent rotational movement of the
collar. A pressure locking, threaded T-handle assembly shall be located on the opposite side of the collar
assembly and shall tighten securely against a flat, extruded channel indent on the upright post for a positive
locking system.
Tensioning winch (Powr-Winchâ) shall incorporate a heavy duty, self-locking ratchet mechanism with a
compression, disc-brake type release mechanism to eliminate a sudden release of the cable tension when
removing net. Powr-Winchâ brake mechanism shall be self-adjusting to compensate for wear. Ratchet and disc
brake lock mechanism shall be completely enclosed by means of a heavy, formed steel cover. Powr-Winchâ shall
be furnished with a heavy, 1-3/4" (4.45cm) wide, high tensile nylon strap, and forged snap hook mechanism.
Nylon strap eliminates the need for the net cable to wrap on the winch drum, which could cause kinking.
Powr-Winchâ furnished complete with removable handle to prevent unauthorized usage.
Standards shall consist of one reel post and one end post. (For multiple court usage, specify additional No.
01972-000 Powr-Ribâ II center standards as required).
NET SELECTION
§ Specify No. 02295-630 or 02294-100 nets for volleyball application.
§ Specify No. 02991-420 tennis net if 42'-0" sleeve centers are used.
§ Specify No. 02991-340 tennis net if 35'-6" sleeve centers are used.
§ Specify No. 02236-100 net for badminton application.

PORTER No. 02295-630 POWR-LINEâ VOLLEYBALL NET
(FOR USE ON No. 1971 POWR-RIBâ II VOLLEYBALL SYSTEMS)
Net shall be 32' x 39" (9.75m x 1.00m) with a 37'-6" (11.4m) long top cable for use in No. 1971 Powr-Ribâ II, No.
1951 Powr-Trakä, and No. 851 volleyball systems. Net shall meet the latest requirement as specified by the
USAV, NFHS and NAGWS.
Netting shall be high quality 4" (10.2cm) square, heavy duty #24 Black Nylon Mesh, with a 2" (5.1cm) wide highquality vinyl coated polyester hem double stitched across top of net. Top hem of net shall be furnished with a 1/8"
(3.2mm) diameter (2,000 lb. minimum breaking strength) galvanized aircraft cable x 37'-6" (11.4m) long, with a
protective coating to protect against frayed cable. Ends of cable to have loops with heavy swaged type fittings for
ease of installation on No. 1971 Powr-Ribâ II, No. 1951 Powr-Trakä, and No. 851 volleyball systems. End hems
to be 4" (10.2cm) in width with a 1/2" (1.27cm) diameter fiberglass dowel to provide a neatly tailored, square
hanging net. End hems shall also be provided with 1" (2.5cm) wide white polypropylene webbing type tension
straps and special quick-adjust tension clips (three at each end) for the utmost in net tension and playability.
PORTER No. 02295-640 POWR-LINEâ VOLLEYBALL NET
(FOR USE ON No. 1991 POWR-LINEâ VOLLEYBALL SYSTEMS)
Net shall be of the same construction as the No. 02295-360 net above, but with a 42'-6" (12.9m) top cable for use
on the No. 1991 Powr-Lineâ volleyball systems.

SPECIFICATIONS
PORTER No. 00717-003 VOLLEYBALL PROTECTIVE PADS (PAIR)
(Recommended for use on No. 761, No. 851 and No. 1951 sleeve-type
standards, and No. 430 portable game standards
Pads (one pair) shall be fabricated from a soft, 1-1/2" (3.8cm) thick Urethane foam interior covered in a durable,
red vinyl coated polyester reinforced cover material. Urethane foam filler shall allow pad to fold around uprights
and tensioning hardware on game standards.
Pads shall be secured in position around uprights with six straps equipped with Velcro type attachment strips for
ease of installing or removing from game standard uprights.
Pads shall extend to a height of 5'-8" (1.72m) above floor and shall meet the latest requirements as prescribed by
the National Federation of State High School Associations for player protection and safety.
PORTER No. 00717-103 VOLLEYBALL CENTER PROTECTIVE PAD (EACH)
Same specification as above except center pad shall be provided in two sections, to provide openings for net
attachments on either side of game standard.
