Crocodiles
Crocodiles are dangerous and they can be aggressive. Most crocodiles eat fish and
large animals, but some crocodiles eat humans. They are reptiles, and they live in
rivers and lakes. They can stay under the water for long periods of time, but they must
come out of the water to breathe.
There are many different species of crocodile. About twelve species are becoming
very rare. The Nile crocodile lives in Africa, and can be about four and a half metres
long. The Saltwater crocodile is larger than the Nile crocodile, and it lives in East
India and Australia. It can be six metres long and it can weigh 900 kilograms!
