Each month students will be asked to focus on particular fact families and will be expected to fluently demonstrate mastery of these facts by the end of that month on Fast Fact Assessments. Fast Fact assessments will be administered one of two ways in First Grade. Some of the assessments will evaluate accuracy (giving the right answer) and others will evaluate fluency (giving the right answer with a given amount of time). All First Grade assessments will have 25 math problems on the page. For fluency timings, students will have 2 minutes to complete the problems on the page. The end of the year goal is for all First Graders to be able to accurately and fluently answer 25 basic addition facts to 18 within two minutes. +
