School Grants for Healthy Kids
Photo Guidelines
Taking & Selecting Photos
Here are some tips for taking compelling photos of your projects in action:
• Whenever possible, take candid (not posed) shots of students, school staff and volunteers
participating in your grant-funded activities.
• Try to take at least one photo of the person who is championing your project.
• Take photos from different angles and distances, and of both individuals and groups.
• Please choose 5-6 of your best photos to submit to Action for Healthy Kids, representing
different facets of your project and a variety of participants.
• All submitted photos must have photo releases through schools. These photos may be used in
publications, although no student identifiers will be used. If you need a photo release form,
please click here for the AFHK Photo Release Form.

Example: SGHK Chopin Elementary IL
Hit “Enter” to add the tags. They will appear like this.
e. Finally, click “Add to albums” and then select “Walmart School Grants for Healthy Kids” or “Kellogg’s
