Katie Fowler: Creativity – Down the Rabbit Hole — March 13
For Katie Fowler, creativity is about being
connected. She makes art to understand
herself and her relationship to others and
the world around her. She fell in love with
the craft of quilting after making her first
quilt. Through her artistic process, she gains
a sense of purpose and possibility, which
is extended with a bit of happiness to the
viewer.

Katie’s art is an essential part of who she is.
“Making” makes her feel whole, energized,

her Source. Her art helps her to understand
her own story, as well as her place in the
stories of others.

Opening and running
her knit shop, Knitty Cat,
for nearly 11 years, gave
Ann Myhre the wonderful
opportunity to learn more
about knitting, crochet,
needle felting, quilting,
embroidery, and beading.
While she is thankful for
the days she spent at the

gained, and the lifelong

Show-and-Tell
Do you have a quilt you’d like to show to the members? One that you just finished, one
for a special occasion, or one with special significance for you? Bring it for Show-andTell. Or, if you need some inspiration, we have come up with two themes for each of the
next few months to encourage you. We want to see your work. To help you plan ahead,
themes for the next months are:
March Your ugliest quilt or a quilt that
reads green;
April A quilt that says new growth or
one that reads yellow;
May A quilt that represents the
universe or a quilt that reads blue;
June A nature quilt or a quilt that reads
purple;
July The theme is hot or a quilt that
reads orange.
