She makes art to understand herself and her relationship to others and the world around her. She fell in love with the craft of quilting after making her first quilt. Katie Fowler vivid, high contrast images she creates on fabric using paints, inks, and dyes. Making art since she was a little girl, she has found passion in mark making on fabric. Katie is an intuitive artist, guided by the work as it progresses. Her art is about vibrant color and relationship. Ann’s first book, Quilt As Inspired, Volume I, is now available, and shows over 20 techniques, including the quilting, and how to easily assemble your stitched sections. Opening and running her knit shop, Knitty Cat, for nearly 11 years, gave Ann Myhre the wonderful opportunity to learn more about knitting, crochet, needle felting, quilting, embroidery, and beading. While she is thankful for the days she spent at the shop, the experience she gained, and the lifelong friends she made, Ann decided to close the business at the end of 2013 to pursue and exhibit her own personal artwork. Speaker Announcement July’s speaker, Melody Money, was the featured artist on SAQA’s February 15 blog. Visit the website and get a preview of her work. Melody also had work accepted in the SAQA Regional Exhibit, Under the Western Sun, which will be hung in July/August at the Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum in Golden. Future 2017 Workshops RMCQ is offering workshops this year. Registration for members is open on the RMCQ website. You can pay for your registration through PayPal.
