Class Goals:
 The primary goal of learning a foreign language is communication. To achieve this goal,
students will be expected to participate in reading, writing, speaking and listening in the
target language.
 Students will acquire knowledge of the culture of the countries that speak the target
language.
 Connections will be made to other disciplines by using those content areas as context
for language learning.
 Students will learn more about their native language by making comparisons and
contrasts to the target language.
 Students will use their new language beyond the classroom by seeking ways to
experience it in their own communities.
