Saint George School was founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1944. Today, we extend our gratitude
to the Sisters of Mercy and the entire community for supporting catholic education. Your
continued support and gifts to our Annual Appeal help to provide our students with the opportunity
to reach for and achieve extraordinary accomplishments, a brighter future and a better community.
The Annual Appeal is part of an on-going effort committed to acquiring financial support from
alumni, parents, faculty, staff, relatives, friends and organizations. This financial support provides
families with affordable tuition, funding for academic resources, the advancement of teaching and
investing in our facility to provide the best learning opportunities for our students.
This year Mr. & Mrs. John Rahner and family have graciously accepted the invitation to be our
“Chair Family” for the Annual Appeal. John, Peggy, RJ, Julia, David and Michael share a strong
commitment for Catholic Education. On behalf of our school community, we thank them for
investing in Saint George School and building upon our tradition of education, service and faith.
Our theme for this year “We are called to be united in faith” is what our focus is about. We want
to invite all of our families back to church to be united in our catholic faith. Please accept our
personal invitation and come to church together with your family.

Saint George Catholic School is a Pre-K
through 8th grade catholic school founded by
the Sisters of Mercy in 1944.
A Saint George Catholic education fosters the
development of our children by encouraging
growth and self-discipline through an
evolving curriculum in a faith-filled
environment.

from God, and their individuality deserves to be
accepted, encouraged and protected.
At Saint George School, we strive for academic

We are honored to be the Chair Family for the 2015 -2016
Annual Appeal. It’s hard to believe that eighteen years
have passed since our son RJ started preschool. Walking
back through the doors that were last exited in 1978 felt
like coming home. We made a conscious decision in
purchasing a home that allowed us to send our four
children to Saint George School. It was a reunion, as ten
of my 1978 Saint George classmates had also made the
same decision and returned with their children.
As parents, we try to give our children the very best.
Enrolling them at Saint George was certainly the right
choice to start them on the path to responsible adulthood.
The bond that was created between clergy, teachers,
administration and classmates is still strong with each one
of our children. It helps to know that our children’s
friends and families also share and promote the same
Christian values.
A Saint George Catholic education means that our
children have learned with a faith-based curriculum. It
sets a strong moral compass to help in their life-long
decision making. A Catholic education comes with
financial sacrifices, but those sacrifices have been worth
it.
Your support of the Annual Appeal provides funding to
the Saint George School operating budget and tuition
assistance for those families in need.
