The Murer House Foundation is dedicated to promoting
Italian culture and heritage in
Folsom and to preserving the
historic house and grounds
built by Giuseppe Murer in
1925.
• Italian Language Classes
In 1906, Giuseppe “Joe”
Murer left his home in
Crespano del Grappa near
Venice, Italy. Two years later,
Joe came to Folsom and spent
the next 63 years erecting several distinctive buildings on
historic Sutter Street, including
the post office, fire station, the
first gas station and remodeling the Folsom Hotel. During
this time, he also built his
home and gardens on Folsom
Boulevard, the Murer House.
