Welcome to the Saco Parks & Recreation Sandbox Tots Day Programs! We will offer these programs from Fall-Spring. These programs will provide you and your child a safe and fun environment to play. For the safety and well being of all those involved in the program, these rules and guidelines must be adhered to. All participants must be preregistered. Returning participants preregister each season. Daily drop-in program fees must be paid before entering the program. Cash or check only. Parents may purchase a 10-visit Punch Pass for check-in as another option. Please note these punch pass rules: If you attend a Sandbox program without your punch pass, the drop-in fee will be due, paid by either cash or check. If your punch pass is lost, please contact the SPR office staff for a replacement card. The original card will be voided if found. Purchase of Punch Pass is Non-Refundable. Expires at the end of the Sandbox season. Each program has a check-in cut off time as follows: Open Gym by 10:00 am, Movement and Tumbling by 9:15am, and for All Stars Sports by 9:45 am. This will help minimize instructors having to repeat directions, and allow adequate time for children to play before clean-up time. If attending just the Bounce House Academy time on Thursday, families may check in starting at 10:15am through 10:30am. It is important to start programs on time. It is ok to come in after the start of a program but please enter quietly, join in and have fun. We do not prorate the cost of the program based on when you arrive or if you leave early. All Sandbox Programs are parent/child interactive – we encourage socialization for all involved but you must directly supervise your child/children at all times. We provide a staff person to make sure the rules are followed and to assist in the event of an emergency. Parents not directly supervising their children may be asked to leave. Younger siblings are encouraged to come but should refrain from using any equipment especially if they are teething or tend to put objects in their mouth. Infants accompanying a sibling but not participating are free for Mondays and Wednesdays. The exact age may vary; if your child is developmentally able to sit and play with the toys, they are considered a paid participant for Open Gym days. If a younger sibling accompanies a participant on Tuesdays or Thursdays and are not age-eligible for the Sandbox program, they must stay with the parent. It is up to the parent to keep that child occupied so as not to disrupt the program. Adult to child ratios must be 1:4 for Open Gym and 1:2 for Movement and Tumbling and All Stars Sports & Bounce Academy. For daycare providers, parents of participants must preregister their household account from home to give their consent for their child to attend Sandbox programs. All diapers MUST be changed in the Koala Station located off the gym. Please use the station and not the counter or bleacher area to change your baby on. Children who are not fully potty trained must wear pull ups or diapers while in the program. If there is an accident please report it right away. You cannot just wipe it up; it must be cleaned. Please report all medical conditions on your registered online household account. Please do not bring your child to the program if they have any contagious illnesses such as head lice, conjunctivitis, colds, flu, chicken pox, measles etc. If your child is pushing others or acting in a dangerous manner, you will be asked to sit out until the child can refrain from these actions. Children cannot hold on to toys or other equipment. Please watch your child’s time on a piece of equipment and make sure things are shared. Parents are responsible to replace any lost or damaged equipment. Do not bring your own toys to share at the program. If a child has their own item such as a favorite stuffed animal or blanket it must be kept out of reach of others in the program. Everyone should have sneakers or soft soled shoes to wear on the court. Children must have socks on to enter the bounce house. Bare feet are not allowed at any time. All children must stay in the program area. They should not be in the upper halls or upstairs unless accompanied by a parent or guardian. All snacks and drinks brought in to the program should be eaten in the bleachers. If other equipment is left in the gym, such as the batting cage nets, tables or chairs, children should not be allowed to play in or on them. All ride-on toys must be used in a designated area. They should not be ridden in the mat play area or near the jump house. The jump house operates with a motor and electricity. All children MUST be kept away from this area. If the bleachers are open no children should be in them unless they are supervised. If bleachers are closed please ask a staff to open them as they require a key to avoid damaging them. Parents please try to limit cell phone use during the program. Programs must end on time. All equipment needs to be stored in the appropriate place.
