After several years at sea, with much time spent in the ports of Newfoundland, his artistic interest turned to landscape. A completely self-taught and enormously prolific artist, he works most frequently in oils with a palette knife to create dramatic and color-saturated canvases. He now divides his time, with wife Christina Roy, between Newfoundland and his hometown of Rochefort-sur-Mer, France. He also works in acrylic, watercolor and some sculpture. About The Grand Bohemian Gallery The Grand Bohemian Galleries were established by hotelier and art enthusiast Richard C. Kessler to display original and rare pieces of artwork ranging from oil paintings, glass, wood, contemporary jewelry, bronze sculptures and unique gift items. Concentrating the aesthetic experience, and an exclusive feature of The Kessler Collection, each Grand Bohemian Gallery is an impressive collection of art, housed in five of The Kessler Collection hotels. The Grand Bohemian Gallery collections are comprised of internationally and locally renowned artists. Each Grand Bohemian Gallery location hosts monthly art exhibitions and frequently offers receptions where patrons have the unique opportunity to meet each artist individually.
