Th e
Dear French Woods Families
The summer calendar is taking shape
and 2017 will be a fantastic camp season. We are firming up the show list
and coming up with new ways to make
your summer even better. The staff is
coming together and we have some
fantastic people coming in this year.
Are you a nurse or do you know one? We are currently looking for camp nurses for session in all
summer sessions. Please call the office if you are
interested.
Tristan, Michael and I are so excited to get back to
camp in just a few months. We have several special
events that are coming together for the summer
including several special guests to both perform for
and work with the kids at camp.
Watch this space!
A note from Ron
In less than two months, Barbara and I will be
heading for camp. For me it is year forty-eight. So
much is going on.
We have three Broadway trips this
summer; Session one “Dear Evan
Hansen”, Session two “War Paint” and
session three “Hello, Dolly!”. If you are
interested in any of these trips, register
for them soon on your CampIn Touch
account online.
Kids registered for the summer have the option of
our periodic “London Trip”. We leave Xmas Day and
return on New Year’s. In addition to sightseeing, we
have tickets for five Westend shows, the Jack the
Ripper tour, back stage visits and Windsor Castle.
The trip is limited to fifty kids and thirty-one of the
spots are already taken. Let us know.
Isaac’s Corner
Welcome to
French Woods
Festival of the Performing Arts. Your
children are in for a remarkable
experience at a place where magic
happens, where wonderment is
the norm, and growth, learning and
fun are the goals. Many amazing
and exciting adventures await your
children at French Woods.
My name is Isaac, and I am one of the Directors of
French Woods. My job is to make sure that every
single French Woods camper gets the best possible
experience imaginable at camp. Every camper is
special and I want every camper to feel special.
I want every camper to reach beyond their grasp
and to achieve the success that comes with the
exposure to the arts and beyond. I want every
child to feel accomplished and self-assured. I want
every camper to have fun in a safe, nurturing and
supportive environment. Fun is the foundation upon
which courage, self-respect and responsibility are
built. A quality camp experience teaches respect for
others and all living things.
I want all of you to know that I am here to make sure
that all of the above happens for your children. I want
them to “get everything” that they came to French
Woods to do. By taking care of our campers “one
child at a time,” we feel we can give each camper
the individual attention he or she needs. I need your
help to start your children on their way to a successful
summer experience. Please be sure to fill out the
online Confidential Camper Questionnaire as soon
as possible and let your children know that while at
camp - no matter what they need, they should simply
speak up. They will have counselors, head counselors,
other significant adults and me. Tell them that if they
need anything at all, “they should go to Isaac.” If you,
as parents need me, I am always available to you by
phone. Please feel free to call and ask for me. Your
child’s Head Counselor will keep you informed about
your child’s activities, program and general camp
experience.
Sometimes I wonder when I will run out of steam and I am looking forward to having your children at French
Woods for many years to come. This is just the first
retire. Not yet. I’ll see you all this summer.
step in a wondrous journey of a lifetime. Your child’s
adventure begins this summer.
See you all very soon.

Grand Vizier.
Happy Feet (7 - 9 year olds)

no self-respecting penguin would do.
The Aristocats (9 - 11 year olds)
Madame’s jealous butler Edgar catnaps
Duchess and her Aristokittens and abandons

your audiences tapping their feet to its hep,
jazzy beat.

spade, is recruited. At first, the pirate life is
all fun: swabbing decks, counting ducats
and singing shanties. But when night falls,
Jeremy gets no bed time story and no
tucking in.

Stephen Flaherty exploded on the musical
theatre scene in 1988 with their first offBroadway show, this zany, offbeat, and
very funny murder mystery farce. The show,
