W
ow, what an exciting year for WSY! State champs for the 7th year in a
row! Congratulations to all swimmers, and a big thank-you to all parents. As for myself
as you all know it has been a year of challenges as I like to think of it. I just wanted to take
a very brief moment to say a very special Thank-you to some people who became such an important
part of my recovery. When I started this, I never realized how important my friends would be until
they became active in my recovery and they helped me over come this challenge.
First to Greg and Michelle Sheibley; you are the most amazing, thoughtful friends ever. To
organize something as grand as the t-shirt drive was simply wonderful. I will never forget the day you
me asked if you could do this Greg and I fell over in the shop. Michelle, only you could take me for a
wig and not get us kicked out after the way we behaved. You guys truly are my friends and I love you
both, Thank-you from the bottom of my heart.
To Pam Wenner; my meals on wheels . . . every week I had the best meals for puddy and I . . .
I would say to Pud, Pam cooked and she would get so excited, we would barely make it home before
she would try to eat. I don’t think I can ever replace those meals. And believe me those dinners kept
me eating many an evening when I had no appetite. Knowing you made it I had to try some of it and
I usually ended up eating, so I Thank-you for helping to keep me healthy.
Lisa Schmittle . . . for always keeping Puddy happy with her cheeeeezzzeeee pretzels which is
the best thing you could have done for me. A happy Puddy makes me happy as well.
Lisa Vaughn for always making me smile . . . no matter what.
Jen Eby for always thinking of my “coffee” . . .
And I know I am forgetting someone . . . but I want to say thank-you to all my WSY friends
who helped me get through this journey.
I did want to say a VERY SPECIAL THANK-YOU to my dear friends Stephanie and Coach
Guy. I would not have made it without their friendship and trust. Many a day I would spend on
the computer with Coach Guy just trying to understand all this. Coach Guy you are the kindest,
most trustworthy, loving man I have ever met and I thank-you for being my friend. Stephanie and
I have cried, laughed, and it always comes back to friendship. Thank-you for your prayers and I
love you both.
Finally to my family . . . I could not have gotten thru any of this without my family. My mom
asked me what she can do to help me, I told her to just take care of Puddy . . . and, I think she did a
great job. My dad is our chauffeur and our dog sitter in all this, and he just does anything for me right
now. So to my mom and dad I want to say I love you and will never forget what you have done.
To my daughters . . . Kendell . . . she is my rock . . . a lot like her mom. She was very angry
about this. Her focus was get it done and move on mom. Too much to do mom, Pud has too much
swimming left, you cannot be sick. I kept her attitude the entire way thru as much as possible.
My Puddy is another story . . . you own my heart . . . which is why I needed to “get it done
and move on”. So I thank-you for shaving my head, even though you did not want to . . . only you
could do that without making me feel bad . . . thank-you for not laughing when I had no eyebrows
or no eyelashes. You were the best even when I was so sick and could not take care of you. You are a
beautiful young lady and I am very proud of you, and proud to call you my own.
Thanx, Coach Kim
