Polarized Lens Identification
Polarized lenses act like window blinds. The lens absorbs horizontal light, while allowing vertical light to enter, mitigating
glare. An effective method used to determine if two lenses are polarized is to hold them towards each other and turn one
vertically. If you cannot see through the lenses, they are polarized. If you can, then at least one is not.
Lens Materials
TAC (Triacetate Cellulose) is a chemical compound implemented in polarized lenses for superior visual clarity. BluWater® Polarized lenses
manufactured with this technology block out 100% of harmful UV rays with wavelengths up to 400 nanometers. The minimum standard for
UV protection in the U.S. is 100nm. All BluWater® Polarized lenses are made from TAC, the only exception being our new Babe Winkelman
line (which feature shatterproof polycarbonate).

eyes from the back surface of the
lenses, resulting in crisper vision
and enhanced contrast.
The Floating collection is designed
with the water sports enthusiast
in mind. Most are enabled to float
with neoprene or EVA foam, while
Buoyant and Paddle are made of TPX®,
a floating lightweight polymer.
These high-tech lenses have 7 to 13
layers of titanium dioxide and silica.
Enjoy enhanced contrast with minimal
glare. Salt water is abrasive to any
mirror coatings, use with caution
around salt water.

This optical technology creates
an invisible barrier that keeps dirt,
sweat and airborne particles from
clinging to the lenses, resulting in
easy-to-clean, smudge resistant
enses that stay clean longer.
These lenses are designed to provide
optimal sight according to existing
lighting conditions. Photochromatic
lenses automatically transform based
on the amount of sunlight while
blocking harmful ultraviolet rays.
UV400 Polarized lenses filter light rays
with wavelengths up to 400 nanometers.
They also filter intense reflected light,
eliminating glare from reflective
surfaces such as water and snow,
while enhancing contrast.
