Activities include guided game drives in the Ongava Reserve and Etosha National Park, searching for desert adapted wildlife in Damaraland and meeting traditional Himba people. In the Namib Desert you will explore Sossusvlei and Dead Vlei, known for some of the biggest sand dunes in the world, the ancient Sesriem Canyon and visit the coastal resort town of Swakopmund where you can relax, shop or do a variety of optional activities; ocean cruises, a desert tour, skydiving or sandboarding to name a few. Itinerary Day 1 Arrive Windhoek, Namibia Upon arrival in Windhoek you will be welcomed by your Fly in Safari Company guide and transferred to your hotel located in Windhoek city. Have time to relax and settle in, or perhaps explore a bit of the city. Later in the afternoon you will have a pre departure meeting with your guide. Included: Transfers, dinner (as per itinerary) Overnight: The Hilton Windhoek (or similar accommodation) Day 2 Ongava Private Game Reserve, Namibia Depart Windhoek after breakfast and head north towards the Ongava Private Game Reserve near the Etosha National Park where you spend the night. In the late afternoon you will enjoy a guided open vehicle game drive on the reserve with excellent chances of seeing big game including lion, leopard and rhino to name a few. Return to the camp after sunset and have the evening free to relax around the camp fire. Included: All meals, Park & Conservation fees, activities (as per itinerary) Overnight: Anderssons Camp (or similar accommodation) Day 3 Ongava Game Reserve / Etosha National Park, Namibia Rise early and enter the Etosha National Park. Explore the park with your guide. You will visit a variety of waterholes and visit the Etosha Pan located in the middle of the park. The 16 000sq km Etosha National Park is rated one of Africa’s top National Parks and teems with wildlife. Common sightings include springbok, impala, wildebeast, giraffe, elephant and ostrich to name a few. From the big game species you have excellent chances of seeing lion, leopard and black rhino. Return to camp in the late afternoon and have the evening free to relax. Included: All meals, Park & Conservation fees, activities (as per itinerary) Overnight: Anderssons Camp (or similar accommodation) Day 4 & 5 Damaraland / Kunene Region, Namibia Depart after breakfast and head towards Damaraland where you will spend the next 2 nights. One of the most spectacular regions in Namibia, Damaraland is characterised by contrasting landscapes, desert adapted wildlife and vast open spaces. The Himba Village and orphanage supports Himba orphans and woman from all over Namibia. Reach the camp in the late afternoon and enjoy a scenic drive en route to camp. Activities at the Damaraland camp include; guided scenic drives and walks. On drives you will search for desert adapted wildlife like elephants and rhino and also learn about the surrounding Etendeka Mountains shaped over millions of years due to volcanic activity and erosion. Included: All meals & beverages (alcoholic & non-alcoholic excl premium brands), activities (as per itinerary) Overnight: Etendeka Mountain Camp (or similar accommodation) Day 6 & 7 Swakopmund , Namibia Depart after breakfast and make our way towards the coastal resort town of Swakopmund. The drive takes us through desert landscapes and part of the Skeleton Coast where you might spot a deserted shipwreck or two. If lucky we might encounter desert adapted wildlife. We reach Swakopmund in the afternoon where we spend 2 nights. With so many things on offer in Swakopmund time is spent at own leisure with the option to relax or do some of the many optional activities on offer. Swakopmund is an adventure centre with activities such as skydiving, sandboarding, quad biking, ocean cruises and desert tours on offer. For those who doesn’t feel like activities there are many shops, museums, cafes, markets and beaches to explore. Spend 2 nights at a desert lodge in the Sossusvlei / Namib-Naukluft National Park area. While in the region you will enjoy a scenic sundowner drive and a day excursion to view the famous sand dunes at Sossusvlei and Dead Vlei, believed to be the biggest sand dunes in the world. You will have the opportunity to climb some of the dunes if you are brave enough. We also take a walk into the ancient Sesriem Canyon carved out by the Tsauchab River millions of years ago.
