But exactly what is it that actually makes Berlin so attractive? It is
the diversity, the contrasts and the sheer inexhaustible potential of
this capital city to consistently fire the enthusiasm of its visitors from
all over the world. People are excited by the mixture of history and
Zeitgeist, the broad spectrum of art, culture, music, entertainment
and shopping facilities.
Cultural enthusiasts can enjoy three running opera houses, 150 theatres and stage venues and “more museums than rainy days” (175
museums to be exact).
And with 30% of the city being covered by parks and woods or rivers, lakes or waterways, a place to unwind is only a few steps away.

This mixture is also the reason why Berlin is “the place to be” for
scientists and academics who are free to combine endless possibilities in education and science with a diversified family life.

Call for Abstracts
Welcome note
Dear Colleagues,
We are pleased to invite you to the European Congress of the International Society for the Study of Hypertension in Pregnancy from
6th–9th September 2017 in Berlin.
Preeclampsia is still one of leading causes of maternal and fetal
morbidity and mortality. Especially in industrialized countries where
many causes of maternal mortality are well controlled, preeclampsiarelated complications are among the main reasons why mothers die.
In the last decade, there have been tremendous research efforts in
the field of preeclampsia. Remarkable process has been made not
only in understanding its underlying pathophysiology but also in
the development of strategies for prediction, diagnosis and therapy
of the disease.
Our congress will reflect the interdisciplinarity of the research on
preeclampsia. There will be dedicated sessions on basic research,
clinical research but also clinical management, screening, prediction and treatment of hypertensive pregnancy disorders. Keynote
presentations as well as oral abstract and poster presentations will
focus recent developments and hot topics.
We look forward to welcoming you in the vibrant city Berlin for the
European ISSHP Congress 2017.
