Read and learn the following short stories
1. TWO SILLY GOATS
Once upon a time there were two silly goats. These two silly goats
wanted to cross a narrow bridge together. One silly goat was on one
side, the other silly goat was on the other side. When they came to the
middle of the bridge they both began to fight. As they were fighting
both fell into the water and were drowned.
2. THE FOX AND THE CROW
A crow once stole a piece of cheese and flew with it to a tree. A fox saw
her, and wanted the cheese. “Oh crow”, he said, “what beautiful
feathers you have! Surely your voice must be beautiful too. Please sing
and let me hear it”.
The silly crow opened her mouth to caw and down fell the cheese. The
clever fox picked it up, and walked away laughing. We must not be
fooled.
3. THE LION AND THE MOUSE
A lion once caught a mouse. The Mouse said, “Please, don’t eat me.
Some day I’ll do you a favour”. The lion let him go. One day, the lion got
caught in a hunter’s net. The mouse came along, chewed the ropes and
let the lion loose. We should always help others.
