16th February 2017 Dear Sirs, Sub: 2.5 cm thick premix carpet surfacing including tack coat and seal coat at MDI Campus, Gurgaon Dear Sirs, Sealed quotations are invited for 2.5 cm thick premix carpet surfacing including tack coat and seal coat at MDI Campus. The quotations should be submitted in a sealed cover addressed to: The Resident Engineer Management Development Institute Post Box No.60, Mehrauli Road Gurgaon – 122001 (Haryana) on or before 1500 hrs. on the 1st March, 2017. The rates quoted should be inclusive of all labour, materials, taxes, octroi etc. and no extra rate on this account will be admissible. The schedule of quantities are enclosed at Appendix-A. The terms and conditions are given below: (i) Running payment against the work done not exceeding 90% of the value of work could be paid on submission of bills by the Contractor. (ii) The work shall be executed as per CPWD specification. The mode of measurement of work done shall be based on CPWD specification. (iii) The payment shall be made on the basis of actual measurement of work done at the rates quoted by the Contractor as per schedule of quantities enclosed. (iv) TDS and WCT shall be deducted as per rules. (v) The Institute reserves the right to get the whole or part of work done through one or more parties. (vi) Water and electricity shall be supplied by the Institute free of cost. (vii) Contractor shall bring only the actual quantity of materials required after measuring the actual area of premix carpeting to be done at site. (viii) The mulba/rubbish while scarifying the surface should be disposed off outside for which nothing extra shall be paid. (ix) All the surplus materials/rubbish left out at site on completion of the work shall be removed from the Campus within 10 days of completion of the premix carpeting. Otherwise Institute will dispose off the same to outside at the Contractor’s risk and cost. (x) The entire work should be completed within 30 days from the date of awarding the work. Damage for delay in completion of the work would be Rs.1,000 (Rs. one thousand only) per day subject to a maximum of Rs.50,000/- Decision of the Institute in this regard would be final (xi) Workers employed on mixing asphalted materials shall be provided with the protective foot wear and protective goggles. (xii) Contractor should make own arrangement for all tools and plants required to complete the job. (xiii) The watch and ward of materials brought at site shall be responsibility of the contractor. (xiv) The premix carpet surfacing should be organized/carried out without affecting the normal functioning of the Institute. There should be least disturbance for the movement of traffic inside the Campus. (xv) The Contractor must get acquainted with the proposed site for the work and study specifications and conditions before quoting the rates. (xvi) The Contractor shall take all precautions to avoid the accidents by exhibiting necessary caution boards, red flags, red lights and providing barriers. The Contractor shall be responsible for all damages and accidents caused due to negligence on his part. (xvii) No payment will be made to the Contractor for damage caused by rains or other natural calamities during the execution of the work and no claim on this account will be entertained. The damages, if any, occurred shall be rectified without any extra cost. (xviii) At least one authorized representative should always be available at site of work to take instructions from Engineer-in-Charge and ensure proper execution of work. No work will be done in the absence of such an authorized representative. (xix) The Contractor shall get the samples of materials approved sufficiently in advance from the Institute. The materials brought at site shall strictly conform to be quality of samples approved and incase of variation such materials shall liable to be rejected and to be removed from the site within 24 hours of the rejection by the Engineer-in-Charge. (xx) Proper camber and super elevation shall be provided as per required at site. The average thickness of the premix carpet surfacing shall not be less than 2.5 cm. Proper coir rope/jute rope or temp plate shall be used to control the thickness. Nothing extra shall be payable of extra thickness over and above 4.0 thicknesses specified in the quotation. (xxi) Hot mix plant and power road roller of 8 to 10 ton shall be used for the road work. (xxii) Preference shall be given those agencies who are having own hot mix plant, pavers, roller, tar boiler, vacuum cleaner etc. (xxiii) Bitumen (Asphalt 80/100) @ 4.2% by weight shall be used. At least four different samples of Bituminous mix shall be got tested and certificate obtained from the PWD laboratory for which nothing extra shall be paid by the Institute. (Testing fee and cartage to be borne by the Contractor). (xxiv) An earnest money deposit of Rs.25,000 (Rs. Twenty Five Thousand only) shall also be submitted along with the quotation by way of Demand Draft/Pay Order favoring Management Development Institute payable either at Gurgaon or New Delhi. While awarding the work, the earnest money deposited shall be treated as security deposit and will be released after one month of satisfactory completion of job. The earnest money deposit of unsuccessful quotationers will be refunded.
