ELIGIBLE
AS A SCHOLAR ATHLETE, you know the meaning of hard work—
the importance of discipline, a strong focus, and setting high goals.
That training has paid off. You are as comfortable discussing literature,
science, and art as you are in the pool, on the court, the track, or the
field.
Now it’s time to find your college community, one that will inspire
and challenge you to develop those talents of body and mind even
further.
The Bryan Scholars Program offers two scholarships, one each for
a female and male scholar athlete in each entering class. The scholarships are valued at $30,000 annually, totaling $120,000 during the
recipients’ Davidson careers.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
RIGHT ON TOP
IN THE PAST 11 YEARS, Davidson athletic teams have won 27
conference championships and eight NCAA tournament bids, and
have posted a perfect season in football and unbeaten records in conference play in women’s soccer, volleyball, men’s soccer, and
men’s basketball.
More than 61 professional athletes and 23 Rhodes Scholars
have graduated from Davidson, which has had the highest
percentage of student athletes on the Southern Conference
academic honor roll 14 times out of the past 15 years.
In the last 11 years, Davidson celebrated:
30 Conference Athletes of the Year
13 Conference Freshmen of the Year
22 Conference Coaches of the Year
9 Conference Tournament MVPs
8 All Americans
16 Academic All Americans
6 Conference Post-Graduate Scholarships
Almost all of Davidson’s NCAA Division I athletes win the highest
honor on the most important field—a diploma from Davidson. Our
student athletes routinely graduate at a higher rate—96 percent—
than non-athletes, a leader among Division I institutions.
DAVIDSON’S FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE program combines
merit and need-based awards with campus employment and other
resources to make a Davidson education possible for all admitted
students.
Our decision on your admission is completely separate from any
financial aid determination. Your character, accomplishments, and
academic potential are the only factors in the decision—not your
ability to pay.
Through The Davidson Trust, Davidson meets 100 percent of your
calculated need with grants plus campus employment. No loans are
included in Davidson financial aid packages. Please note that families are free to take out loans as a matter of personal financing.
Davidson’s Net Price Calculator is intended to assist you in early
financial planning for college. This calculator is designed to provide
a preliminary estimate of federal, state, and institutional aid eligibility
to help families gauge what aid the student may be awarded and to
make arrangements to cover the cost of attendance.
If you are relying on merit aid, please note that, other than the
Bryan Scholars Program, all merit decisions are made after January 2.
EARLY DECISION PLAN
If you are certain that Davidson is the right place for you, you should
consider applying Early Decision (not required of Bryan candidates).
The Early Decision Agreement states:
Davidson is definitely your first choice. You will not apply Early
Decision to another college or university. If accepted, you will enroll
at Davidson. If accepted, you will withdraw all applications to other
colleges or universities.
