Park Summary
Golden Gate Elementary School Student
Council was asked to propose names for
the new dog park. The students felt strongly
that the name should include “Golden Gate”.
The Student Council suggested four possible
choices.

On January 20, 2016, the Parks and
Recreation Advisory Board unanimously
voted to recommend the dog park be named
the Golden Gate Paws Park.
The Golden Gate Paws Park consists of
approximately 12,500 square feet of grassy
area located in the Golden Gate Community
Park. The dog park consists of two off-leash
areas for dogs to exercise and play in a
controlled environment under the supervision
of their owners. The dog park is unstaffed,
therefore, requires no user fee. Each “dog
run” will have water stations.

regulations governing dogs in county parks
are intended to protect park resources and
park visitors. Your efforts as a responsible
dog owner are necessary for resource
protectionand to ensure that other
park visitors have asafe and enjoyable
experience. Be respectful of others, be in
control of your dog(s) at all times, and always
clean up.
Owners are solely liable for injuries or
damages caused by their dogs. This
includes injury to another dog.

Golden Gate Paws Park
The “small dog run” is for dogs less than 35
lbs. and is approximately 5,000 square feet.
The “large dog run” is for dogs over 35 lbs. and
is approximately 7,500 square feet, located
West of the Community Center.
Hours of Operation
The hours of operation are Sunday-Saturday
from 7:30am until sunset. The dog park will
be closed on Tuesdays and Thursdays from
1:00pm-2:00pm for maintenance by staff.

 Golden Gate Paws Park will be checked
daily for cleanliness and trash removal.
 Golden Gate Paws Park will be closed on

 Golden Gate Paws Park is a grass surface.
 Water stations will be present at dog parks.
1 in the Large Dog Run and 1 in the Small
Dog Run.

Rules and Regulations
 Dog owners must clean up after their dog.
Bags are provided. Dog owners must
properly pick up and dispose of their waste
before leaving the facility. Owners must fill in
holes made by their dog.
 All dogs must be leashed outside of the area.
That includes the parking lot when you are
walking your dog from your car.
 Pet owners are responsible for their dog’s
actions and behavior at all times. Dogs
must be attended and supervised at all
times. Children under the age of 12 must
be accompanied by an adult at all times. No
unattended dogs are permitted at any time.
 Large Dog Area- dogs 35 lbs. and over.
 The owners of any dog assume all liability for
damages incurred by anyone who is bitten by
a users’ dog while utilizing the park.
 Dogs that fight or display aggressive
behavior must be immediately removed by
their owner.
 Small Dog Area- dogs less than 35 lbs.
 No more than 2 dogs per person are
permitted at one time in the park.
 All dogs must be licensed and properly
immunized.
 Please remove dog toys brought and used
for playing. Leaving them is unsanitary.
