Artrage is a not-for-profit incorporated association that produces the FRINGE WORLD Festival and
associated regional touring programs as well as Northbridge’s Rooftop Movies. Our purpose is to
enrich and evolve the creative arts and culture of Western Australia and our mission is to provide
enduring benefits for artists, audiences and a diverse family of stakeholders through building the
world’s strongest Fringe festival.
FRINGE WORLD Festival is the largest annual performance platform in Western Australia and the
third largest fringe festival in the world. The 2015 FRINGE WORLD Festival was the biggest yet
with free and ticketed attendance of more than 660,000 and a program of more than 550 events at
113 venues, presented by over 2,600 artists.
Rooftop Movies is an open-air cinema with breath-taking Perth city skyline views, located in the
middle of Perth’s entertainment precinct, Northbridge. The venue operates for six months of
entertaining summer bliss from October to March annually.
About the role
The Candy Bar team are responsible for the daily operation of the snack concession located at
Rooftop Movies. Providing a high level of customer service, the Candy Bar team undertake a range
of duties, including merchandising, stock tracking, food preparation, cleaning, sales, cash handling
and takings reconciliations.
Due to the nature of the cinema and its season, all applicants must be available for the entire
contract period from 29 October to 19 March. 1

Selection Process
Shortlisted applicants will be asked to take part in an interview in October with the Program
Manager in Perth. Interviews will be conducted in person. Telephone/Skype interviews will only be
scheduled if the applicant is not currently in Perth.
Interviews will occur over 1 and 2 October 2015.
Successful applicant/s will be notified by 9 October 2015.
Unsuccessful applicants will be notified in the week commencing 12 October 2015 and may
request feedback in writing.
The employment period for the position is 29 October 2015 to 19 March 2016, with training to
occur prior to the start date.

Contract Details
Salary:
$20.69 per hour plus Superannuation contributions

Working Hours:
Normal work hours are 5pm to 9pm.
Due to the nature of the event, Candy Bar staff are occasionally
required to work events and other functions outside of the normal work
hours.

Key Accountabilities
Candy Bar Sales
• Set up and pack down candy displays and prepare popcorn for customers.
• Process candy bar transactions.
• Reconcile cash from candy bar sales and ensure banking is completed securely.
Customer Service
• Respond to enquiries and complaints from the general public.
• Deliver a high standard of customer service for patrons, clients and stakeholders of Rooftop
Movies.

Assistance
Assist the Projection and Venue Manager in opening and closing procedures.
Facilitate the pack down of the Candy Bar and regular cleaning of the popcorn machine
Undertake candy bar stocktake weekly as required
General cleaning and tidying tasks

Excellent customer service and sales skills.
Responsibly and accurately handle cash and end of shift reconciliations.

Possess a high level of computer literacy.
Effective problem solving skills.
