This year Atla.ntic Nursery :and
Garden Shop in Freeport, celebrates 75
Years beautifying Long Island. In 1929
Karl Feile, an immigrant from Germany,
started a small garden maintenance
service business. He grew perennials on
the surplus land and when his sister
Anna joined him in the 1930's the business evolved into the premier retail garden center it is today. Atlantic Nursery
& Garden Shop has grown and prospered throughout its 75 year history and
is visited annually by national and international garden center organizations.
. The company continues to operate on
the original plot of land on Atlantic
Avenue'in Freeport; although significant
expansion has taken place over the
years. In 2000 an' 8,000 square foot
state of the art greenhouse with a convertible roof was added and they are
currently remodeling the Miller Avenue

Shop and its sister company Atlantic
.Landscape Design Associates is operated by the second (Sig) and third
(Christina) generations of the Feile family.

filled with live grasses, mums and kale

of Indian corn on your door. You will
have created a warm welcoming autumn
atmosphere for your-family and neighbors to enjoy from now until
Thanksgiving. During the Hallowedn
season, decorations such as . ghosts,
