Installation guidelines
Celotex GA4000 series boards should be fitted between the
rafters before TLX Gold is installed. For the 100mm rafter system
50mm GA4050 should be installed and for the 125mm system
75mm GA4075 should be installed. This leaves the minimum
50mm rafter space required to adequately drape TLX Gold.
When installing Celotex Insulation the key elements that must
be considered are:
• Appropriate PPE should be worn when handling Celotex PIR
rigid boards.
• Measure accurately the width of each rafter space to be filled
prior to cutting the board. Ensure there is a tight fit between
insulation and rafters to minimise air leakage and heat loss.
• Cut the Celotex GA4000 board slightly oversized with square
edges to achieve a ‘friction fit’.
• Any gaps should be filled with suitable expanding foam.
• Where boards butt together joints should be taped with
Celotex Insulation Tape.
TLX Gold must be installed with the Gold side facing into
the building.
• Cut TLX Gold to size using sharp scissors, such as carpet fitting
scissors
• Starting at the bottom of the roof simply roll out horizontally
across the rafter leaving a 10mm drape as you go, fix in place
with staples of at least 14mm, it must be installed with TLX Gold
film facing down and breathable membrane up.
• To seal the edges of TLX Gold and create a vertical lap separate
the membrane from the insulation and trim back to the last
rafter. Fit the adjoining roll butted up to this with the created
flap over the top. Seal with single sided tape.
• An air gap of 10mm should always be left between
TLX Gold and the Celotex Insulation in order to achieve
optimum performance.
• TLX Gold comes with a 150mm overlap of breathable membrane
at the bottom of each roll, which is fitted with an integrated
tape making joining to the next roll fast and easy to do.
• Finally fit tile battens ready to be tiled.
