REQUIREMENTS:
Students must spend 3 hours per day per course to successfully complete the PLATO Summer
Program.
Each course taken is to be successfully completed within the 24-day session. Therefore, it will be
the responsibility of the student to work through the on- and off-line assignments (English only) in a
timely manner.
Teachers will be monitoring the time students spend working on the course material. Students who
fail to work on a regular basis may be withdrawn from the course and denied access to the PLATO
site.
Students will be able to attempt Mastery Tests up to three times after which the student will be
locked out of the course.
All Post Tests and End-of-Course/Semester Tests are to be completed under EACS employee
supervision in a designated New Haven High School computer lab.
Students will be able to work from any computer that has Internet access i.e., home, the public
library, or at school when computer labs are open and staffed.
Students will be awarded a grade and course credit for successful completion of each course taken.
Non-completion of courses will not impact a student’s GPA in any way.
Students will be required to sign-up in advance to meet with a teacher licensed in the area
pertaining to their selected course, as teachers will not be on site during all computer lab hours.
Students must comply with the EACS Code of Conduct at all times. Any required administrative
intervention for disciplinary concerns may result in expulsion from the program.
All students must bring a photo ID to each session held in an New Haven High School computer
lab.
Students must bring their own ear buds to use at computer stations.
Students must provide their own transportation.
