Northstar Montessori Summer Camp 2014 The school year is coming to an end and we are busy organizing this year’s Summer Camp. The camp will be held from Wednesday July 2 to August 22, 2014. Activities during the summer include field trips, arts and crafts, picnics and science exploration. The camp is open to all students ages 4 to 12. Please refer to the schedule below for details. The students will require a hat, waterproof sunscreen, non-marking running shoes, swimsuit, undergarment and a change of clothes each day of camp. All items need to be clearly labelled. MONDAY - Sports/Drama Day The students will take part in organized group sports and games, which are designed to help promote physical development, cooperation and team building skills. They will also prepare and practice a drama skit to be presented on Friday. TUESDAY - Field Trip The students will participate in a variety of scheduled field trips that will change weekly. Cost for the trips are included with the weekly fee. A list of scheduled trips will be posted once they have been confirmed. The students will be required to bring a disposable lunch on this day. WEDNESDAY - Safari Science Workshop A science workshop is scheuled each week with new and exciting experiments for the students. The students will also complete an Art Project on this day. THURSDAY - Lakefront Promenade Picnic and Splash Pad The students will take a bus ride to Lakefront Promenade Park for an outdoor picnic and a refreshing dip in the splash pad. The students must wear their swimsuit underneath their clothes and bring essential items (towel, sunscreen, watershoes, and a plastic bag for wet towel). The students will also be required to bring a disposable lunch on this day. FRIDAY - Cooking and Movie Day The students will be involved in preparing lunches for themselves and their friends. In the afternoon, enjoy a movie and popcorn. Please indicate the Summer Camp week(s) that your child will be attending. We request parents to remain committed to the week(s) you have chosen as we will be scheduling staff according to the number of students registered for each week. Payments for requested weeks are mandatory and must be submitted with the form. Please note, receipt of forms and cheques are a confirmation and no refunds and no changes will be accepted unless you wish to add weeks and space is available. All cheques need to be post-dated and dated July 1st for weeks 1 to 5 and August 1st for weeks 6 to 8. All fees are inclusive of before and after-school fees. Summer Camp hours run from 7:30am until 6:00 pm. Interested parents are asked to submit registration form and cheques to the school before May 23rd, 2014.
