Abortion Law Reform Association (f. 1935): Records, 1935–83, of this body, set up to
legalise abortion, and after 1967 Abortion Act, mobilising against attempts to restrict it.
Includes papers of Janet Chance, Vera Houghton, Eva Learner, Lord Silkin, Madeleine
Simms, David Steel, MP; as well as material from the (Lane) Committee on the Working of
the Abortion Act, 1971–4, and a small group of reports from Brook Advisory Centres,
