The Immigration Affairs department at our university facilitates the submission procedure. Contact the International Office to obtain all necessary information or check our website. http://www.amsterdamuas.com/education/practicalmatters/item/immigration.html Insurance Health insurance Dutch law requires everyone living in the Netherlands to have health insurance. Students must themselves make sure that they have adequate coverage (i.e. health care costs and personal and professional liability). If the insurance you have in your own country provides full cover for medical costs and legal liability while you are in the Netherlands, you should bring with you a statement in English detailing the insurance cover. If you do not have adequate coverage, you may want to consider special student insurance with the following insurance companies whose policies have been checked by Nuffic: - Insurance Passport for Students (IPS) www.studentsinsured.com/ips/ - AON Students Insurance www.students-insurance.eu/ More information can be found on our website, http://www.amsterdamuas.com/education/practicalmatters/item/insurance.html Academic Information Fall or Semester 1 Spring or Semester 2 Academic Calendar 2016-2017 From 29 August 2016 to 27 January 2017 From 5 February 2017 to 7 July 2017 Introduction Programme - International Student Network Amsterdam http://www.isn-amsterdam.nl Fall or Semester 1 From 23 August to 26 August 2016 (subject to changes) Spring or Semester 2 From 2 February to 4 February 2017 (subject to changes) Courses Offered in English in the Media, Information and Communication Bachelor Programme Exchange Period 2014-2015 Semester 1 (Fall) Semester 2 (Spring) International Journalism: Global and Local International Trade Publishing, Books & More (30 ECTS) (30 ECTS) Survival Dutch (2 ECTS) Global Trendwatching (30 ECTS) Survival Dutch (2 ECTS) 30 ECTS Course Load per Semester The semester programmes are not modularized.
