Introduction
The ES20/20M electric strikes are fully monitored high security door strikes. The ES20/20M series are designed to
provide Power to Lock (PTL) or Power to Open (PTO) change over by rotating the “Capstan” locking mechanism
without tampering with the internal locking operations. Both ES20 and ES20M are manufactured purely from stainless
steel with a 850KG holding force, 120J impact resistance, 1 million product life cycles, and have the added advantage of
accepting DC voltages from 10 to 30 volts. In addition, the ES20M model is provided with full monitoring features
including Lock Status Sensor, Door Status Sensor and “Anti-Tamper Switch” to allow entire security control as part of a
building management system.

Step 1:
Position the lock body as shown in Figure 1.

Remove the Rubber cap and carefully peel the sticker to reveal the end hole as shown in Figure 2.

Separate the provided screw driver pen as shown in Figure 3.

Step 4: Use the “-“ (slot) end of the Big Screw Driver to loosen both Capstan Release Screws as shown in Figure 4.
NOTE: DO NOT turn more than 2 full revolutions when loosen the Capstan Release Screws.

As shown in Figure 5, the Capstan is located inside the square cutout. The Capstan Gear can only be revealed
by inserting the provided Small Screw Driver into the End Hole as shown in Figure 6.

Step 6:
As shown in Figure 7, the Capstan Gear can be seen from the square cutout when the Capstan is pushed from
the End Hole by using the Small Screw Driver. At the same time, use the Big Screw Driver to rotate the
exposed Capstan Gear to alter the Lock function between PTO and PTL. As shown in Figure 8, rotate the
Capstan Gear towards left hand side to achieve PTL function; vice versa for PTO.
Step 7:
After the desire Lock function is switched, remove the force applying on the Capstan from the Hole End, and
tighten the Capstan Release Screws. Replace the Rubber Cap and the Sticker to complete the conversion
process.

NOTE:
As shown from the figure above, it is important to have a 1mm gap between the door latch and the front face of strike
keeper to prevent the door from exerting back pressure on the keeper while the door is closed
