Dock Lines 04 - April 2016

Volume 15 Issue 4
“For a Better Marina”
From the Dockmaster:
Hello Folks. Fort Myers had a
short winter of about two weeks
this year, but the heat and
humidity are certainly here now!
The winter seasonal use of the
marina has been the best in the
last ten years. Hooray for so
many
folks
enjoying
their
boating and choosing the Fort
Myers Yacht Basin!
The possible privatization of the
marina was basically put on hold
Your Dockmaster
after
a “Request For Proposals”
Leif Lustig
resulted in three interested
companies and their potential plans for the marina
followed by two proposals being given a hearing by a
selection committee and the City Council then electing
to take no action.
“Thank You” to all of our wonderful and appreciative
Customers, short and long term, for staying at the
marina, shopping at our store, buying our fuel, dining in
the many wonderful area restaurants and supporting
the local economy in general. For all of our Snowbird
residents, we wish you a peaceful and
safe
summer wherever you may be off
to.
April 2016
Cigarette Smokers
Please use the cigarette butt receptacles around the
building. Smoker’s, please respect your neighbors and
do not throw cigarette butts on the walkways. Show
folks that you were raised with some good manners.
"Dockeeping"
Please keep it neat and do not inconvenience your
neighbors. Please return the dock carts to the office
area for the next customer.
Ships Store
We are now carrying a wider selection of docklines
including 3/8” and 1/2" lines in various lengths. If you
would like to see us add to our inventory, just let us
know so we can better serve you.
Marina Safety Concerns
The best response to a crime concern is to be aware
and contact FMPD. The EMERGENCY number is still
911, the non-emergency number is 321-7700, even if
the concern has passed. You are also asked to call your
Dockmaster Leif at 707-5316 so that your concerns
can be known and dealt with.
If you have a bike, remember that the YB store now
has various types of heavy duty bike locks for sale.
Many of the bikes that have been stolen were secured
with simple, but ineffective padlocks, or were not
secured at all.
April 13th will be our last party
