1. Please clarify the 12' callout for the hatching striping at station 214+00. page C8?
Answer: Added pay item for 12 In. Thermo.
2. What is the width for the double yellow, thermoplastic striping at Station 202+50
,Page C6?
Answer: 5 Inch.
3. Will the stamped concrete need to be integral or a concrete color hardener?
Answer: Integral
4. Regarding Line Item #999-0000, Replace mailbox with decorative mailbox, Qty,8
No. No any details found.,
Answer: Replace with like kind.
5. How many pedestrian lights will be installed by Georgia Power?
Answer: Approximately 86
6. On the sheet 16, sidewalk plan, the detail of the section A is missing.
Answer: See addendum 1 added section A.
7. Is there a cross section of the thermoplastic crosswalk?
Answer: No
8. For the curb and gutter, how the asphalt topping, pavement reinforcement fabric,
class B concrete and GAB is going to be pay?
Answer: The detail calling for this has been deleted. The asphalt will be sawcut
and the curb poured to the existing asphalt. There is a pay item for GAB

9. On powder springs sd. The pressure wash and graffiti treatment is referring to
the parapet walls over the bridge or to the modular block walls under the bridge?
Answer: The parapet walls not the modular walls.
10. Regarding Line Item #999-00000, Cross Walks (Thermoprint HT), Qty, 674
SY.No any Cross Sectional Details found. Can you favor me to provide Sectional
details?
Answer: There are no cross section detail for this and none is needed.
11. On Drg#C16-Design Details Plan, Sidewalk Plan Details, describes, Metromont
Pavers 6 CM Holland Stone Red.Is it Brick Pavers or Concrete Paver? How it will
be paid?
Answer: Include in the square yard price for sidewalk.
12. Const Drg# C3, C7 & C10, describes, Stamped Color Conc 6” Thick. Bid
Schedule Line Item#439-0018, Concrete Ped Island 8 In Stamped Red. Which
one is correct?
Answer: 6 inch.
13. Our concrete sidewalk takeoff is 500sy under the bid item quantity. (sidewalk)
Answer: Quantity will remain as is.
14. Pay item 610-2700 states: Remove and dispose of existing sidewalk, topsoil, ect.
To 4" depth. What does etc. include?
Answer: Everything to a depth of 4 inches.
15. No demo of curb on typicals
Answer: Not needed. Will be done as directed by the engineer.
16. The bid item description for the concrete pedestrian island states that it is 8". Thw
drawings state that they are 6".
Answer: 6 Inch
17. Any specs on the decorative mailboxes?
Answer: Replace with like kind.
18. Pole at 106.5 is not addressed on Plans
Answer: Pole will remain. Sidewalk will be installed to avoid the pole as directed
by the engineer.

Answer: Yes
20. Can cast-in-place ADA tiles be used?
Answer: Yes
21. Driveway concrete not shown on plans
Answer: Will be done as directed by the engineer.
22. Please clarify Remove & Dispose of existing curb & gutter & where?
Answer: Will be done as directed by the engineer.
23. Please clarify 24" L-Back curb & gutter & where
Answer: See plans at Old Austell Road and will be as directed by the engineer.
24. Does Curb go around pedestrian islands And if so is this a separate pay item.
Answer: No
25. Please clarify the location of item 999-0000 500 LF
Answer: Will be as directed by the engineer.
26. Can not find Hollandstone red for colored concrete is tile red suitable.
Answer: No
27. Can rings & cover be reused or does Powder Springs have special covers.
Answer: reuse ring and covers.
28. The callouts for the pedestrian islands in the drawings calls for 6 inches while the
bid item 439-0018 calls for 8 inches. Please clarify.
Answer: 6 Inch
29. Will the sidewalks north between stations 201+50 to 202+50 and north between
stations and between stations 208+00 to 212+00 and south between stations

214+50 to 217+00 have the 2' wide stamped concrete strip. There are callouts
but it is not shown on the drawings. Please clarify.
Answer: There will be a 2 ft wide stamped concrete strip in these areas.
30. There is hatching striping on station 214+00 page C8 but there is not a line item
for Hatching in the bid form. Where is the contractor to allocate this cost?
Answer: Line item has been added.
31. There is a line item for Driveway Concrete 6 in thick but there are not any new
driveways in the drawings? Please clarify where the new driveways will be
installed
Answer: Will be as directed by the engineer.
32. Where is the contractor to install details - "Standard Concrete Curb With Street
Patch Detail" , "Sidewalk Plan" , "Concrete Paving Section" , "Typical Sidewalk
Section "B"" , "Typical Sidewalk Section "C" Through Paver Band" .
Answer: Standard concrete curb with street patch detail has been deleted. Typical
sidewalk section B and C as shown on plans.
33. Who is the manufacturer or brand for the ADA pavers?
Answer: Not specified use GDOT approved manufacturer.
34. GDOT Standard crosswalks usually require 8in striping while the detail on page
calls for 12" striping. Please advise contractor which width to install
Answer: 8 Inch.
35. Regarding the Bid # 16-008 Streetscape Project New Macland Rd, Marietta St
and Powder Springs Rd, we would like to know if a specific form for the bid bond
is required or what forms are accepted for this bid?
Answer: AIA form is acceptable.
36. The note on page C9 says "Existing bridge parapet walls to be pressure
washed," while the callout points to the modular block wall. The modular block
wall is dirtier than the parapet walls. Please clarify which wall the contractor
should pressure wash.
Answer: Parapet walls not modular walls.

37. Is the Substrate for the ThermoPrintHT concrete or asphalt?
Answer: Asphalt
38. Regarding Line Item 441-0016-Driveway Concrete 6 In Thick, Qty, 250 SY. No
locations shown on plans. At which Locations, Driveway Concrete needs to be
constructed? Please, describe the locations on Plans.
Answer: Will be done at the direction of the engineer.
39. Regarding Line Item Pressure wash parapet walls & paint with anti-graffiti
treatment. Qty 1 LS. There are two Locations described. Second Location On
Sht#C9-Sht#9, Existing two Modular Block Walls needs to be Pressure wash &
paint with anti-graffiti treatment? Or Exist Bridge Parapet wall w/Decorative
Fence on either side of Bridge, needs to be done above treatment?. Please,
Clarify which walls needs to be done above treatment?
Answer: Parapet walls does not include modular walls.
40. For pay Item 999-000 "Pressure wash parapet walls & paint with anti-graffiti
treatment", the plans call out parapet walls on New Macland road, and modular
wall below road at Powder Springs road. Please confirm the extent of areas to
be treated.
Answer: Parapet walls does not include modular walls.
41. Do we have a preferred manufacturer for the decorative mailboxes.
Answer: Replace mailboxes with like kind.
42. Based on the detail it shows the entire sidewalk having a concrete base topped
with pavers. Is this the case? If not could you provide a new sidewalk detail..
Answer: See Addendum 1 sidewalk section A
43. Could you provide a detail for the 6 In. concrete island?
Answer: No detail. 6 inch island according to plan doweled into existing pavement.
44. Is the GAB under the 24 inch curb and gutter? If so what is the depth?
Answer: Yes 6 inches.
45. The bid schedule calls for an 8 inch concrete pedestrian island, stamped red.
However the plans call for a 6 inch concrete pedestrian island, stamped red, .
Would you please specify the depth of the island?
Answer: 6 Inch.
46. The bid schedule calls for 250 sy of 6 inch driveway concrete, this does not
reflect on the plans. Could you specify which driveways are in the scope?
Answer: As directed by the engineer.

this down into the different colors and sizes?
