AMICA™ - Apparatus for Microwawe Ablation
AMICA™ - MW Ablation System
Microwave Output: up to 140W Continuous Wave at 2450 MHz.
Electrical safety: microwave amplifier fed at 12VDC, low dispersed
currents. Constant monitoring of microwaves delivery: continuous
measurement of forward and reflected microwave power; automatic
microwaves inhibition in case of exceeding probe temperature or
reflection coefficient; self-diagnosis of microwave module.
Essential and intuitive user interface: just an LCD touchscreen for
browsing through menus and a knob for working parameters
selection.
“Open” digital architecture: any customization simply requires a
software upgrade. Interfaceability: AMICA-GEN is designed for
exchanging data and energy with external devices. Integrated
automatic peristaltic pump for probe cooling.
AMICA™ Probe
Sharp trocar point for easy penetration into tissues. Very good US
visibility. Internal water cooling to avoid shaft overheating. Built-in
thermocouple for probe temperature monitoring. Embedded
memory chip for probe identification by AMICA-GEN, providing
enhanced ease and safety of use.
MW Technology
• 11G, 14G, 16G interstitial probes. Shaft lengths: 150 mm,
200 mm, 270 mm.
• Internal water cooling combined with a special miniaturized trap
for reflected waves (mini-choke*) which yields quasi-spherical and
perfectly controllable ablation volumes.
• Large and fast ablations: more than 4 cm in diameter in 10
minutes, with a single probe.
• No grounding pads.
• Microwave output: up to 140W CW at 2450 MHz.
• Continuous monitoring of delivered power, MW reflected power,
temperature.

AMICA™ - Dual Ablation System
The only ablation apparatus in the world comprising in the same
hardware both a MW and a RF energy generation, delivery and
monitoring device. Capability of driving either a RF monopolar
electrode or a MW mini-choked antenna through the same generator output port. Automatic identification of probe type (RF or MW)
and selection of corresponding output energy type. Embedded
peristaltic pump serving for internal cooling of either type of
applicator. Interactive touchscreen user interface.
