Motivation Think­Pair­Shair View the flamingo on the smart board and in two minutes write down as many adjectives as you can to describe it. Then take three minutes to compare answers with you table mate. Some of you will be called on to share your answers. Instruction/Learning: An adjective is used to describe or modify a noun. Adjectives can answer the following questions about a noun: which one, what kind, how many, and how much. Go to mrscaple.com and click on tab "Adjectives and Adverbs." Adjectives usually come directly before a noun, but sometimes come after the noun. Example: The talkative student made friends easily. The student is talkative and made friends easily. Review page 344 Demonstrative Adjectives are demonstrative pronouns used as adjectives: this, that, these, and those. Review page 345. Interrogative adjectives use interrogative pronouns as adjectives: which, what, and whose. Guided and Independent Practice: Works the examples and first question of Exercises 1­8.
