These tulips have
been infected by
a virus that
causes them to
have one main
colour and
feathers or
stripes in another
colour.
These tulips do
well in containers
and have rounded
petal tips and
bases.
These tulips have
single flowers and
are like a globe in
shape with
rounded petal
tips.
These are also
known as peony
tulips because
they have rounded
petals that curve
towards the
center and are
somewhat pointed.
Triumph
Lily

Fringed
Viridiflora
The triumphs are
named because
they are so great
in the garden.
The petals
generally have two
colours (i.e.
White flowers
edged in pink.)
The petal shape
of these tulips is
completely
different. The
petals are long,
narrow and
pointed with the
tips pointing
outward.
These tulips have
deep cuts and
frilly edges to the
petals. The heads
on these tulips
are very heavy.
The tips on the
petals of these
tulips are like a
spiky fringe.
There are not
many types of
them as yet.
The flowers on
these tulips have
a green band of
various lengths on
the outside of the
petal.
