Chicago has so much to offer us on a spectacular and
brand new tour to share with all our friends. Our first
stop is at Prairie Meadows Race Track, where we will
get caught up in the excitement of quarter horse racing,
and enjoy dinner.
Day 2 CB, D
Chicago, IL
This morning, explore the steel and glass enclosed John
Deere Pavilion. Nothing runs like a Deere, and we’ll
see this history behind the company, the machinery, and
the famous shade of green at the museum. Chicago,
America’s favorite big city in the Midwest, has its own
culture, its own architecture, and even its own hot dog!
Break open the home of Al Capone and Babe Ruth,
the Bears, the Bulls and deep dish pizza as explore the
Windy City. Arrive in time to soar upward in the world’s
fastest elevator to the top of Sears Tower (now officially,
Willis Tower), 103 stories tall, where the panoramic view
of Chicago and Lake Michigan surround. Settle in for two
nights at our downtown hotel, the Embassy Suites.

Begin the day with a tour of Wrigley Field! In operation since 1914, the iconic home of the Cubs has been the
site of famous baseball moments such as Babe Ruth’s “called shot” and Ernie Banks’ 500th home run. Continue
the Cubs theme for lunch at one of America’s top sports bars. Chances are, you’ve never seen anything like it!
Journey thirteen miles south of Chicago to the intricately planned community of Pullman. Scenic and orderly, the
town was built for and by railcar workers in the 1880’s. It has been called the perfect town, and its history reflects
the triumphs and struggles over the past century. This evening, enjoy a dinner cruise along the city’s shoreline.
View world-renowned skyscrapers as an experienced and entertaining guide recounts the dramatic story of Chicago’s
rise from the Great Fire of 1871 to become the cradle of modern American architecture. Along the route are dozens
of buildings by world-famous architects, including the Tribune Tower, Marina City and the Willis (Sears) Tower.

Departures
Today we ride from one Midwest powerhouse to another
aboard an Amtrak train. Travel to St. Louis, home of the
Gateway Arch. Enjoy a relaxing dinner tonight.

Home
The Windy City hosted our whirlwind getaway, sure to be
one for the scrapbooks. Relax all the way home today
from a pleasant getaway.
