Summer Reading Assignment Name: _______________________________________ In sixth grade, we will be sharing and discussing all different genres of books and poems. You will grow as a reader all year long! To begin our conversation at the start of our year, please select three (3) books you have read over the summer and complete these Summer Reading Summaries and Reader’s Responses. Please make sure your work is neatly written. You may type this assignment, as well. You will be using this assignment to create your first book project of the new school year. You will need to bring in ONE of your summer books and this packet for the first week of school. We have included a book list to guide you in your selections. If you are looking for some great summer reading recommendations, you may choose a book from the provided list. If there are books that you just can’t wait to read, but you do not see them on this list, you can certainly read those, too. The goal is to keep you excited about reading, all summer long! We hope you have a summer filled with great reading, and we look forward to learning all about your summer reading lives in September.
