The Friday Newsletter Friday, 31 March 2017 Message from the Head Good afternoon. I am sure you will join me in saying a fond farewell to Mrs Britton who has been part of the Knebworth team for the last 17 years. We all wish her well in her new post as a Headteacher and know that she will be an outstanding Head in the same way as she has been an exceptional teacher at our school. I know the whole of the school community will miss her greatly. I am sure the children have told you about our surprise guests on Monday. We were lucky enough to watch a fantastic production of Charlotte’s Web. Thank you to everyone who attended parents evening and saw just how hard the children have worked over the last term. Red Nose Day March 2017 A big thank you from Mrs Britton for all your support with Red Nose day this year. We raised an astonishing £1,820.58p our highest amount ever! A copy of the new menu has already been given to your child to bring home. Please note the new menu also shows a cold option of a sandwich or baguette as available. This is something that we are looking into providing, but it will not come into effect until after the May half-term holiday at the earliest. Further details will follow in due course. From next week we are going to trial the use of wristbands as an additional method of notification. These will be used alongside our existing procedures. A talk for both parents and professionals by John Williams to be held on 11th May at Peartree Spring Primary School in Stevenage. ‘My Son’s Not Rainman’. Please ensure you check the expiry date of any ongoing medication kept in school. Whilst we do our best to keep a check on it, it remains parental responsibility to ensure the medication information is up to date and the medication is in date. The price of school dinners is increasing after the Easter holidays to £2.40 a day, making the weekly charge £12.00.
