Created the international artist in residence program (iAIR) and established a financially sustainable plan. Redeveloped the Graduate programs. I established a structure of regular group meetings which includes robust seminar program that addressed critique methodologies and relevance of creative practices to contemporary 21st century societies for both the MA in Art History and the MFA in Studio Arts. In addition, I developed and put into place annual field trips to major cultural centers for both graduate programs. Developed, in collaboration with faculty, new electronic assessment system, learning outcomes and assessment criterion. Introduced blind marking to assure the quality assurance of the robust assessment process. Generated outreach community projects involving students and faculty; some examples are: 1 Collaborative proposal between City of Bozeman Parks and Recreation & School of Art MSU- Temporary Public Outdoor Art. Projects will range from international exhibitions from MSU’s School of Art iAIR program to undergraduate and graduate works that may be displayed in prominent flagship parks, neighborhood parks, playgrounds, and traffic islands. 2 Collaborative land art project/proposal between Northern Pacific/Story Mill Historic District & School of Art MSU. 3 Month of Military kids creative workshops in collaboration with Belgrade Library. Shifted the culture of the school from “teacher-centered” to “learner-centered”. Redeveloped the Graphic Design Curriculum in collaboration with faculty to reflect relevance to the 21 st century. Supported; helped found, and facilitated the International Wild Clay Research Center and PULP, International Research Center for Works on Paper. (Interdisciplinary) These research centers have been successful in continuously attracting grant funding Development of Interdisciplinary ‘core’ web design course taught between the School of art and Computer Science – classroom based course and online course. In continued talks with facilities and health and safety and Board of Regents to address chronic ventilation issues (clean air) As a result major funding of $850,000 has been granted to develop a systems level solution for all of the IAQ issues in the School of Arts lab/studio areas. Major upgrade of gas supply pipes to School of Art Kilns Development of new website for the school of art. Redevelopment of one of the School of Arts Galleries (The HEC Gallery $29,000 re-fit) 2 new graduate program proposals plus one undergraduate program in collaboration with School of Engineering, Psychology, department of computer science and Architecture.. Leading the School of Art and School of Film and Photography through national accreditation (NASAD). Successful bid to host ThinkTank 2014 at the School of Art Bozeman 2014 ThinkTank is a yearly forum that discusses the future of foundation art programs and creates focused activities linking educational objectives to learning goals. Part of the team that secured FEMA grant of 2.9 million, plus State Funding of $725,000 for seismic upgrade of creative arts complex. In the chapter on contemporary photography the author states two things about my influence and impact as an educator and artist. As an educator: “Vaughan Judge, in particular has been responsible for encouraging a radical program of photographic art from students at Glasgow School of Art” (p. 155-156) As an artist: “In addition to this, Vaughan Judge’s practice has developed into one of the more fascinating neo-conceptual forms of the contemporary period”. (p. 155-156) My photographic and installation artworks have been included in three additional exhibitions and publications which have held historical significance and influence in the development of the photographic medium. The book Light from the Darkroom: A Celebration of Scottish Photography, which was also a major exhibition, was published in 1995 UK. In 2003, I was included in the touring exhibition and publication Scotland Calls: 100 years of Scottish Photography, which was curated by Murray Forbes of the Navigator Foundation in Boston, USA. In 2012, my work was included in the exhibition “Figures in The Landscape: One Hundred Years of Photography”, New York.
