CLOVERLEAF BARRELS
Rider enters the arena, races across the timer line. Race Clock begins when
timer light beam is broken the 1st time. Race ends when light beam is broken
the 2nd time.
Rider runs to the back of barrel 1, go around it to the back of barrel 2, then
run around that and on to the last barrel and go around that from the rt. to
the lt. side, and back to the gate.
Pattern may be approached from left or right side of barrel.
PEPPERMINT TWIST
Rider rides to the barrel on the right circling around it keeping it on their
right. Then the rider circles the left barrel keeping it on the rider’s left. Rider
then goes to the right side of the 1st pole weaving the three poles up and
back crossing the timing line.
CANDY KISS
Rider negotiate the 1st barrel on either the right or left side, crossing the top
of the barrel and rides to the outside of the 2nd barrel. Rider crosses over to
circle the 3rd barrel and rides to the 4th barrel. Rider crosses over to circle the
1st barrel ending on the opposite side on which rider started.
PEAVINE SHUFFLE
Rider rides to the 1st barrel starting on either the right or left side. Rider rides
between the two barrels, circles the 2nd barrel crossing back between the
two barrels, running back to the timing line on the opposite side as rider
started on.
RENO RUN
TRUCKEE RIVER RAPIDS
Rider starts on the left side of the 1st barrel, crosses between barrels one &
two and rides to the 1st pole with the pole on rider’s left. Rider weaves the
poles & barrels going around the top barrel and continues through the
cone/gate to the timing line.
Rider rides to the 1st pole with the pole on the rider’s left side. Rider crosses
between poles & circles the 2nd pole, keeping the pole on the rider’s right
side. Rider crosses between poles & goes around the 1st pole, keeping the
pole on the rider’s left side. Rider rides to the top of the barrel, keeping the
barrel on the rider’s right side & rides around the top (only). Rider jumps the
cross rail & rides to the timing line.
SPARKS SPRINT
POLE BENDING
Rider starts on the left side of the 1st barrel, crosses between barrels one &
two and circles barrel two. Rider crosses between barrel 1 & 2 and rides to
the 1st pole with the pole on rider’s left. Rider weaves the poles & barrels
going around the top barrel and continues through the cone/gate to the
timing line.
Pole bending times are fastest if you have a running start. You can start your
ride well before the starting line. You can approach the line of poles either to
the right, or the left of the line. If you start by running down the right side of
the poles, you will run to the end of the line of the poles, and then turn left
around the top pole in the line. You will then weave back between the poles
in a serpentine pattern towards the finish line. As you reach the last pole,
however, you go completely around it and weave back towards the top pole.
On reaching the top pole, you will finish your race by turning around the last
pole and running straight down the line of poles and across the finish line.

I AGREE that AHA and the ACS Sponsoring Organization have the sole right to control, sell, supervise or give away (or assign to others the right to do so) the exclusive rights to
broadcast, televise, reproduce, transmit and disseminate all or part of this event, and I agree that AHA may use or assign, in any way AHA sees fit, photographs, films, videos, audios,
cablecasts, or other likenesses of me and my horse taken during the course of the Arabian Community Show for the promotion, coverage or benefit of the Arabian Community
