Team Member Job Description
SUMMARY
As a Team Member with Malamiah Juice Bar, your role will include serving customers, making juice bar drinks,
setting and maintaining attractive displays, and cleaning and maintaining the juice bar area according to the
Downtown Market specifications and the Kent County Health Department requirements. You will ensure a positive
company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient customer service to customers and team members.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Give every customer immediate and undivided attention. Do everything possible to ensure that customers are
satisfied and have a positive experience.

Ensure a fresh and appealing display by keeping cases, shelves, and displays clean and well stocked, while
continuously checking and ensuring freshness and quality of products.

Operate equipment and serve product in the juice bar area, this includes preparing juices and smoothies.

Follow juice bar procedures to maintain supplies, storage and coolers and to track product transfers and
spoilage.

Assist with sampling program by keeping sample areas full, clean, and appealing and by sampling products
directly to customers.

Operate and sanitize all equipment in a safe and proper manner.

Follow and comply with all established policies and procedures.


REQUIREMENTS

Exceptional customer service, friendly personality and positive attitude.

Excellent communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team.

Ability to follow instructions and procedures.

Ability to sell proactively.

Aptitude to gain extensive product knowledge.

Ability to visually examine products for quality and freshness.

Effective time management skills.

Strong work ethic and integrity.

Proper handling of all equipment in department, including blenders, juicers, knives and other cutting equipment.

Available for flexible scheduling to meet the needs of the juice bar.

Knowledge of juice bar products and customer service experience preferred.
ESSESNTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.

Ability to bend and stoop to grasp objects.

Ability to bend and twist neck and waist.

Ability to reach above and below shoulders and squat.

Ability to lift loads, not to exceed 50 pounds and push and pull carts weighing up to 100 pounds.

Ability to use hands in repetitive movements for grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation.

The mission of Malamiah Juice Bar is to promote holistic health and community wellness by providing natural juice
and smoothie products along with health education and youth employment opportunities.
Vision:
Our vision is to use fruits and vegetables (locally grown as much as possible) to create healthy juices and
smoothies that are both delicious and packed with nutrition. These drinks will allow customers to consume
beneficial nutrients in a concentrated form which will positively impact their health. We also provide educational
workshops and presentations to the community that can be hosted at the Downtown Market and presented at
various sites in the community. These presentations focus on sharing information about the health benefits of fruit
and vegetable consumption through juice and smoothies while also providing manageable steps to gradually
introduce healthy habits into personal lifestyles. The health presentations and product menu are specifically aimed
to entice and target the African American community. However, the products and presentations are by no means
exclusively offered to any one group or demographic. We also consider affordable product pricing to be highly
important so that the juices, smoothies and other items sold are accessible to a wide range of consumers
regardless of socioeconomic status.
